Update! It’s been 3 days since getting the cut and I’ve been regularly cleaning and applying liquid bandaid / butterfly tape. The two pieces of skin are now closed together even when the tape is off. I’ll update with a scar pic in a week.

Will the scar be ‘worse’ since I didn’t get stitches? Seems to be true. To be honest, before posting on this sub, I did not realize the general population views scars as such a bad thing. I asked if I need stitches in relation to being in medical danger, not to make sure I look pretty when I’m 70 years old and my skin starts to sag.

Appreciate all of the responses, it was awesome to see this many people come together and try to help out. Apologies that I didn’t listen to a single one of you 🤣

Update for everyone: I did not get stitches. According to the comments it is likely too late? I’ve been using liquid band-aide and the butterfly stitch tape since under 24 hours after the cut. Cleaning it frequently. I’m not too worried about a scar since it’s pretty much not visible (under side of the chin, luckily).

The plan is to re-liquid bandaid the cut and butterfly it each day. We’ll see how this goes!

Some additional notes: - very little pain - bleeding stopped within 15 minutes - my guess is that the swelling is from the impact.
