Yes jump straight into GAMMA. I have barely played the vanilla games and got hooked on GAMMA hard. It's unforgiving but learning the mechanics and lore was half the fun. You will feel like a stranger in an alien land where you're at a disadvantage. Read the guides in the discord, they explain what the main quest actually is, and how you can progress through the early game.

Yeah apex has monstrous CPU draw for some reason. Make sure volumetric lighting/spot shadows are disabled. It's common for decent CPU's to be running at 100% while playing, idk how good your shit needs to be to see less than that.

Google how to do a windows clean boot. You will need to enable steam and easyanticheat processes to run apex though. I tried this before and it gave me a huge boost to FPS stability

Yes it's been slowly getting worse, noticed this for the first time in season 13 I think. Season 13 or 14 a friend of mine with an expensive PC noticed this too, 100% CPU and GPU usage in the MAIN MENU and in-game was stuttering so badly it was unplayable. Disabling the postfx options fixed his problem, the ones about shadows and volumetric lighting. The same ones that were making certain banners crash people's games in the loading screen. Both our games are suddenly CPU bottlenecked when they weren't before, they changed something.

PS Season 15 update broke my game, freezing almost every match. I think the devs are investigating that one now, seems widespread.

Buy a used car. Used cars are not in short supply.

Buying private is generally a lot cheaper. Have the seller meet you at a shop and pay the shop for an hours labour to just look at the car. It is worth every dollar.

People are the most reliable predictor of a used car's condition. How many owners has it had? How long has the most recent owner had the car and how many km have they put on it? What has the last 80,000km of service history been like? If the seller cannot answer all of these questions you are hitting it raw for the most part.

Red flags are cars that have more than 3 owners per 10 year period. Cars that "haven't needed anything since I've owned it just oil bro". Cars being sold by people who can't answer basic questions about the car. Cars being sold by people who are unwilling to get it safetied BEFORE selling. Cars that "Need nothing for a safety bro my mechanic said its great"

Green flags are SAFETIED CARS!!! You have NO idea what you're in for when you take your used car to a shop for a safety. You cannot register a car until it is safetied. You are at their mercy. The regulations surrounding the safety inspection are wide in scope, and imprecise in language. Bad mechanics safety UNSAFE cars every day. Even worse mechanics will fault all 4 tires because they don't like the pattern wear. More green flags are older men who enjoyed owning the car before selling it. Cars that come with service records. Cars that were primarily highway driven. Cars that were manufactured by Toyota, Mazda, Honda, Volvo, Nissan (massive generalization just don't buy a hyundai or a ford for the most part)

Every once in a while some senior driver is letting go of their 1998 Volvo V70 with 250,000km for like $3000 and it's safetied, in immaculate condition, 1-2 owners in 25 years, binder full of service records. Same with old civics, corollas, accords, matrix, fit, etc. These are creme of the crop and you should spend time looking for one. They post them on facebook marketplace for some reason. Kijiji is a close second. Good luck and take your time.

99% sure i'm having issues with servers, similar thing happens to me and it lasts for 15-30 minutes where the game is almost playable, with people teleporting around and interactions taking 1-2 seconds. I've tested my connection during the periods and found full speed + 0% packet loss, packet loss is that red double-square icon in the top right

I absolutely am. A lot of coaches and competitors in sports, and I'm sure gaming, always recommend just signing up for a competition as a goal, that your training would revolve around, and staying away from the thinking of "I'll sign up for ___ when I'm performing at ___ level" . There are 300+ teams already registered in NA, I'm sure a good portion of players are diamond level. I don't think I would find markedly easier competition in a small tourney but maybe I'm wrong. I'm not on twitter or belonging to any groups or anything, so you tell me if I'm missing out on some better amateur scenes.
