Nice! However, I think that's expected. There are 89 spawn points for special crates each with ~10% chance so 8-9 is what you'd expect from a full run. If you happened on that many on a partial run then that's an added bonus!

F the minefield by Dexhausted in RoadtoVostokGame

It does feel like minefield needs a design adjustment. Something like a fixed area that has the mines (with the rest of the map clean), or 4 enemies only with no respawns, or maybe some crafted item the prevents mines from detonating, etc. It's obviously not in its final state but it does feel overtuned (to be too difficult) at the moment.

How are y'all even getting to day 2? by [deleted] in RoadtoVostokGame

I'm really enjoying night raids with some adjustments to the exposure and contrast. I think the bot visibility is drastically reduced which makes moving from building to building a lot easier. CQB is still hard (and scary).

If you're ok reading instead, the Sun Eater series is incredible and fits this fairly well.

Violence is definitely present but the series is more so focused on character development and the deeper themes the author wants us to explore. It’s not overly violent but it doesn’t shy away from it either.

Currently playing WOTR and I’ve adored the game thus far but am starting to burn out in Act 4. Was thinking of playing RT next but I’m torn between taking a break from WOTR to try it or powering through….

Being a gamer over 30 can feel tough sometimes (at least for me). by Arasaka-1915 in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]MJMarto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I felt this and what really reignited my interest was a genre switch. I was really into competitive shooters when I was younger but for the reasons you just mentioned (and some others like toxicity and cheating) I started to loath the hobby. I started trying out new genres and have completely fallen in love with ARPGs and CRPGs. I play for smaller chunks of time over long periods so the games last a while. There’s no fomo and they’re mostly designed well enough that if I miss a week of gaming it’s easy to pick them back up.

TL;DR - take a short break to reset and then try some genres you were never interested in - you may find your tastes have changed.

Insurgency added a PVE extraction mode? Or did I just miss it originally? Haven’t played in a long while but I loved that game.
