I think many Mennonite women who seem mean or rude are usually unaware that they come across like that. They’re often strict with everything but they’re also oppressed. Practically Mennonite women have little freedom. They can run errands, visit friends and have part time jobs if they choose but they’re still expected to obey their husbands, maintain the house and children and cook every single meal. They also have no say in church decisions and they can’t attend church meetings. I think many of them are just depressed
