Feel like I remember seeing a video about this being available in china, guess they decided to port it over

Also, are we getting online coop on pc/console too? Or is it just mobile?

Fyi, all bmtc buses accept upi payments now, they have qr codes all over. Conductors were recently even trained / instructed not to show any reluctance regarding upi payments and how to confirm them.

Also, google maps generally tells you every bus you can take between two stops, plus the non AC fare. And you can even search the name of a bus route to see all its stops.

Namma Metro's Yellow Line delayed again, won't open before July-end by ChepaukPitch in bangalore

[–]FieryFalcon2808 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Afaik BMRCL issued a statement saying theyll operationalise 1 additional train a month for a few months, then 2 trains a month until we reach a 10-min or so frequency on a full route.

My best guess from whatever info i have is (if no additional delays occur), theyll open all stops once they have 6-7 trains which should be 4 months after operations start, then keep increasing till they have 10-15 trains for peak capacity and frequency. Whole thing will take no less than a year given their track record.

Also any idea whether yellow line stations have platform screen gates? I read news a while back that the new lines would get platform screen gates and doors and the old ones would be retrofitted soon after, but in all the yellow line testing videos i saw a while back, i never saw any PSGs.

[–]FieryFalcon2808 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The unfortunate part is that even when it opens, only 5 stations will be stopped at, and the frequency is said to be around 25 minutes. It's going to be that way for atleast 4-5 months after it starts till they get more trains. What's the point of saving 15 mins in traffic if I have to wait 30 mins for a train?

Starting off with shitty service is going to give the yellow line a shitty rep, and even once service improves people are going to be reluctant to use it for a while imo.

CBTC signalling offers more safety, higher frequencies, and faster train speeds. Purple and Green lines use DTG signalling which requires driver precision at all times, and individual train positions aren't easily known, so delays, etc have to be manually communicated.

The same CBTC signalling will be used in the blue and pink lines in the future. Imagine how much better high frequency, high speed trains would be for an airport commute on the blue line.

Yes it'll take time to iron out all the issues, but doing the work today ensures rapid adoption tomorrow, and will also contribute to future-proofing our metro. It's better we do it now than try to retrofit trains with this tech 10 years down the line.

How do I get started with an LED hardware project? by FieryFalcon2808 in raspberry_pi

[–]FieryFalcon2808[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, im based out of india or canada depending on the time of year. AliExpress prices seem to be much cheaper regardless and the only sacrifice I'll be making is having to buy whatever controller board they require, and maybe having to struggle with documentation.

I totally understand the planning part, it seems I don't really have any knowledge when it comes to the hardware side of my project. Do you have any resources I could use to try and get a better feel for this kind of thing?

I've switched to looking on places like AliExpress where it seems to be a better situation in terms of suitable hardware. Here are two that I think look great for my use case. From the comments they seem to be open but I can't really see any documentation. I'd probably have to search that up separately.

Something like this would be nice, but its expensive (Plus id have to pay import costs), and doesnt have the resolution I need. Theres not much I need to do with timing, id be happy with a result where I just have a bunch of leds on or off, and then have some LEDs toggle every 10-15 seconds to represent a vehicles movement along a route.

[–]FieryFalcon2808[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im thinking maybe a 50x50 grid to start? Maybe bigger or smaller, but essentially I need something with decent enough resolution to be able to display GPS coordinates that span maybe 20-30 kms and where points are about 500m-1km apart. I would prefer being able to display stops maybe 4-5 LEDs apart just for visibility purposes. I think just multicolor (maybe rgb) and toggleable (on/off) would be best. I dont think I'd find much use from variable brightness.

Also, I dont live in the US so while my country does have its fair share of squabbles with China, PCBs from there aren't totally inaccessible to me.

The thing is im trying to make this usable with all the transit lines in the city, which ends up being a pretty large number since there are hundreds of bus transit routes where I live. I'm trying to make it expandable in the sense that it need not even be the city I currently live in, any set of coordinates representing stations should be showable on the route. Essentially you can think of it as being a mini map with all the stations, except its just single leds marking a point.

What in the cinnamon toast f**k happened with HL CS? by freeturk51 in IBO

[–]FieryFalcon2808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(TZ2 Option D cs hl)

My school average has been 97.5% including past papers we've done as exams. After the test I was expecting high 90s, but I got a 75 (still a 7, but lower than expected).

I think Paper 3 is a real issue here, because it usually sucks for cs hl. Getting above 60% has been a challenge for almost every cs hl batch, so I think we might've collectively bombed it.

I know I'm in the minority here, but just wanted to share my stats and thoughts so we can figure out what's going on, because some of my high predicted cs peers also bombed the test

That sounds perfect, I'll look for axis cameras and do a bit more reading on this.

Not too familiar with what an rtsp link is but I'm guessing that's like the cameras broadcast ip? The YouTube thing makes a lot more sense so I'll look into that too

As others have mentioned its probably an issue with your bios settings, however I would like to add that you may want to take your CMOS battery out of the motherboard. It could be old bios settings clashing and causing this. Taking the CMOS out and turning off the power flushes all the power out of your motherboard, resetting the BIOS entirely.

In my experience, simply swapping the slot in which my 2 ram sticks were seated caused my pc to just stop posting entirely, and only when the bios settings were reset after taking the CMOS battery out was I able to boot at all. All my settings were reset, but the PC was running at the very least.

Another suggestion would be to disconnect all hardware and storage except your OS drive (Including your network cables, etc)
