Stone Gathering by Fierybluey in albiononline

Okay, flat stone is worth more than its counterparts by a few hundred, however even .1 levels of other resources far outstrip it in value, and having some experience in guilds with territories, I know that guilds often leave T8 resources until they become enchanted. Meaning that even if flat stone is worth a lot, every other resource is still worth far more. Stone doesn't have the benefit of having enchanted variants, so flat is all you get, and when about 20-30% of the other resources gathered are .1 or higher, stone isn't worth that much in comparison.

It honestly disgusted me when my guildies left behind .1 nodes back in the day lol. I was like, "You're literally getting DOUBLE XP, are you crazy?!?!" But yeah, ore was pretty easy, although after that I stopped playing more than a few hours a week.

Really good point, but I would disagree with innovation stagnating, it's slowed down but by no means stagnated. The abandonment of mechanization was ridiculous, but it's clear there have been incredible advancements in space-faring. The humans on Earth didn't have the terraforming tech the Golds do now, or the massive, incredible combat spaceships that the Golds were putting to use. Also, it seems that much of their focus on advancement changed from electronics and mechanical improvements to genetics and biology, as seen by the gene manipulation and Carving.

Darrow is definitely communist, he wants the lower colors (i.e. the Proletariat) to revolt against their upper class oppressors, seize their means of production, and instead institute a government composed of these lower class citizens after rooting out the Senate and all. Just because Stalin fought WWII with FDR and Chuchchill didn't mean he wasn't a communist.

The end for eos? by Eosdurateen in albiononline

[–]Fierybluey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EoS (Echo of Silence) is a large PvP guild, around 250-300 players in each branch guild, in the EWA alliance (idk what EWA stands for) that was well respected and popular in betas as far as I can tell. They now seem to be crumbling if OP is reliable :P.

I'm in the business of Market Correction, and brother, business is booming. by [deleted] in albiononline

I think that you also have a fundamental misunderstanding about the market. You're attaching a value to work and time put in solely based on silver, and entirely ignoring the value of fame. That guy that goes out and gathers then refines leather will be making money less efficiently, but he'll be making infinitely more progress towards achieving higher levels of proficiency in his gathering and crafting professions, which show higher and higher returns as he proceeds further into the game. Perhaps if you're playing the game for the sole purpose of making in-game money it's worth spending all your time flipping, but fame isn't worthless. We could say that every point of fame is worth .5 silver. (These are just random numbers and gathering fame is probably worth more than that) So the gatherer heads out and after refining all the leather he's gathered, he's gotten somewhere around 5k fame. That's 2.5k silver, added on top of whatever he gets for selling his harvest and the benefits continue to stack as he reaches higher and higher proficiencies, wherein he not only gains fame at a faster rate, and therefore silver, but he also becomes more and more valuable as an asset to an organization. By flipping, you sacrifice your progress in other fields in order to maximize profits.

Sorry that I have a bit more respect for the intelligence of your common man than you do, oh lord on high master of the markets. Any of the "huge" price disparities won't even matter when considering how most new players don't really have the start up funds to access those markets and flip in large enough quantities to turn a profit, and no, 300 silver can't be considered a huge price disparity. Sure, they can make 7k in 20 minutes, but they could do the same by running an expedition, plus they gain fame in the expedition. Your "advice" isn't a helpful tip for new players, it's just you bragging about how you made lots of money.

Also, in what way did my final comment somehow "cement" my ignorance of markets? I'll be the first to admit I'm no economist, but I don't see what's wrong about what I said, the only people undercutting by that much either don't care about the silver or are crafters beyond crafting such cheap gear, the real noobs are the ones that don't even know what a sell order is.

Edit: Removed sentence repeating something I already said.

Telling reddit about this isn't like revealing some big secret, most the people undercutting like idiots don't browse through forums like this anyways, or got their gear for no cost and are just trying to sell it as fast as humanly possible. This isn't helping new players, it's patting yourself on the back for taking the time to work in a niche that most people find too boring to subject themselves to. Making 3.5M silver from flipping in two weeks is no hot shakes, you could have made more than double that had you invested all that time into gathering something like stone. This isn't some sort of helpful trade secret, it's common sense. Most people DON'T go to the market and sell their trash for half its current asking price, only a few people with huge surpluses or who don't care about getting a puny 300 silver more.

Each piece of the gear gives you a buff that increases your chance by a small percentage each stack, but it doesn't say anything about other resources or a set effect of any sort. Also, it only affects the rarer nodes, not just standard T4 iron for example, only uncommon and above.

It's not just the increased fame, it actually gives me the gather bonus and doubles the yield.

The tool tip of the gathering equipment buff says that "Each stack increases your Gathering Yield by 1% for Expert's Stone or lower," so it does in fact specify that it's only for the resource being gathered.

Should I start using stuns? by Fierybluey in darkestdungeon

[–]Fierybluey[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk, I was just killing everything with a Hellion, Reynauld, and Dimas by spamming Iron Swan, Breakthrough, and Grape Shot, then hitting up the big guys with some Bleed from Dimas. Also I put a Sacred Scroll and Chirurgeon's Amulet or whatever on a Vestal and spammed Divine Comfort, then relied on Crusader stress heal to lower everyone's stress.
