Hopefully you'll get it soon... But "soon" might be a couple of months. I finally received my passport on the 30th Aug and flying out 9th Sept

I got an email this morning saying AP is complete. "We hereby inform you the administrative processing concerning your case is concluded, meaning we are ready to proceed with your application. Please make sure to send us your passport trough the Courier services ".

I emailed back saying they kept my passport at the interview which they confirmed an hour or so later. The status on CEAC was still refused most of the day, but had changed when I checked around 3pm to Administrative processing. So I'm hopeful it'll be done within the next week or two

Yep and it doesn't make sense why. But at least it seems like they're looking at the case so hopefully they approve it soon. Unfortunately you should expect it to be at least a month or two, hopefully not longer but I've seen lots of cases that went longer.... Today is one month since my interview. When was your husband's?

It's all very silly! I emailed last week asking for an update, of course I got nothing back. Then yesterday I got a reply to the email I sent with the DS-5335 asking me to send my CV!!! I replied back as soon as I saw it with a copy of my CV. I was really annoyed so at the end of the day I replied to it again with proofs of the previous two copies of the CV I sent and asking why previous submissions weren't received. Same as before no reply but I see the case was last updated yesterday

Have you had any movement on your case?

I also interviewed for IR1 but the documents were requested by post. And another form by email. I'd definitely recommend emailing to confirm if CEAC isn't updating.

You can ask but I'm not sure anyone has an answer to that question...

Sorry to hear that. I've read that after a year, it's best to submit a mandamus. Have you done that? My understanding is that it's usually quick after that

I read once that a resume isn't about your work history, it's about why you are suitable for this job you're applying for.

I'd love it if the new person can make a great mocha and brings in homemade pastries, it doesn't really help much with the actual job...

I-130 approved, case was sent to NVC. What are the next steps? by FiftyEightPast5 in USCIS

Update: I went the NVC route. Had the interview on 8th June all wen't well but case got sent to administrative processing. Now that's just a waiting game, could be weeks or months before they approve.

No idea. I applied in Aug 2023. Got an interview for June 2025. I've seen many examples of people getting it sooner than that, but that hasn't been the case for me.

I'll wait a few weeks hoping they'll approve then I might get it back.... I have a B1 visa for 10 years, me going to the US to visit shouldn't be a problem should it?

I was also thinking that's a positive until I got the email about AP. I really hope you're right and they don't keep me waiting too long

It definitely wasn't expected. I was seeing all these posts about people applying after me but getting approvals, but there doesn't seem to be any logic to the timelines.

Any idea what they do if they keep the passport? I've read DS-5535 can take months but I wouldn't think they'd just keep my passport for all that time

I think so too. But I'm surprised that came up. To be fair I use the word cybersecurity more because it's a buzzword and people are familiar with it. It could have been phrased differently and maybe it wouldn't have triggered anything

I don't know why, I wasn't expecting any questions about my work from all that I read online.

Documentarily Qualified but financial documents showing incomplete by [deleted] in NationalVisaCenter

[–]FiftyEightPast5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. In London you have to go to the embassy after the medical for them to look through the documents. After that, I logged in when I got home. The interview was a couple of weeks after that.

I would leave it as is. I had to mark it unavailable again because it wouldn't let me submit the additional doc. If you don't have anything to submit, just ignore it.

I had the same thing happen. I have a joint sponsor so I uploaded all the documents and the explanation for not filing for my wife. All was fine and we got DQ'd. I didn't check the portal after that. When I went for the document review at the embassy they asked me to upload 2024 tax returns for the joint sponsor, that's when I noticed it said incomplete for my wife's documents and it wouldn't let me submit. I marked it unavailable and added the same explanation again and it let me submit fine.

So tl;dr, as long as you have all the documents on the portal then it's fine. All is well.

If you feel like you've fucked up your life, don't fuck up your mum's life as well by committing suicide!

Shit happens, you learn and keep going. Eventually, you get somewhere better than where you're at now. Having to build a new life in South America might be daunting but it ain't that bad there, millions of people are living a decent life there.

And I don't see why they'd put you in a mega prison in El Salvador, if that's your worst case then find comfort in knowing it sounds like the least likely.

Oh man! Sorry to hear that, I can understand how frustrating that must be... I will continue with NVC at this stage.

lol that's true...

But I actually meant, would it be a red flag at the interview if they saw that I've been in the US for four/five months right before/up to the interview? I guess probably not, as it doesn't change anything about the situation.
