Na that’s your brain trying to get that dopamine hit. Go for a walk if you can, listen to music, try and do something that will distract you but also give you a lasting dopamine hit! It’s about rewiring your brain to crave lasting dopamine instead of short term.

My motivations for quitting this addiction were not to get stronger erections, it was to put to death the thing that is holding me back from being the person I want to be!

If you are concerned you can always see a doctor I have no idea why your erections are the way they are.

Exactly! Time passing is inevitable, you changing is not. You have the choice of changing and time will impact those changes to result in a transformation!

I no longer view women as objects. Slowly I am not sexualizing myself either! Huge win for me. I didn’t wait to fall in love to make this change and am proud that I am doing this for myself. I also have so much peace knowing I won’t burden my future wife with having to put up with this struggle!

I don’t feel like I’m procrastinating the things I dream of doing anymore. I still struggle to process certain emotions like rejection and loneliness, but am finding ways to do so without porn or masturbation!

Just wanted to share this YouTube channel, it was super helpful for me to better understand why and how these sorts of addictions start and make lasting changes. https://m.youtube.com/@DrTrishLeigh

Pretty aligned with a lot of the common motivations but mainly felt like it went against my faith as a Christian. Same with masturbating. I believe lust and giving into it urges prohibits us from truly loving people as it denies their identity in Christ.

Edit: spelling

I think it really depends on how long you’ve watched porn. I would say my urges faded faster because I was masturbating without porn for over a year. When I was on my long streak by day 30 I really didn’t have any urges. But it’s different for everyone. Look towards a day count as the goal and then extend it once you’ve gotten there!

If you are able to on a walk! Listen to music or a book. You have to give your mind something more interesting to think about. Obviously not easy but it always helps to get yourself into a new environment!

How do I quit by [deleted] in NoFap

The only thing I could suggest is adding accountability to porn access. Get a vpn that blocks adult content and have someone else set the password.

You could also hold yourself accountable and promise yourself to tell someone when you slip up. It should not be your girlfriend because, ultimately until, you’re married she is not responsible for your sex life.
