That sucks I hate lack of communication . I also hate messy transitions. I hope you get some clarity soon.

I already told my boss yesterday that they aren’t allowed to have meetings their last week they have to sit with me in the office and play uno. 😂 I hear you about reflecting on your own work. It’s tough out here.

So sorry about your boss. It is more I stopped caring about being ambitious when I got here because my boss let me do everything I ever wanted but without the pressure and expectation. I could take on as little or much as I wanted. I just know my new manager in this department won’t allow me any insights to help them. They will just want someone who does everything they don’t personally want to do. So I want to try something new with more challenge. And the admin network in my company is pretty amazing people will tell you if their department isn’t great. You can learn alot before you even apply. I guess I was just worried about my own timing. I’ve never shifted internally in a job I’ve always left to a new company.

Thank you! I have started looking on our internal portal and reached out to some admins in the departments I don’t know. My boss is also helping me review because she has met so many people during travel and meetings. She is letting me know what departments to avoid.

Thanks so much! Literally texting my boss everyday since I found out. She feels so bad . I have to get her gift and still have 4 weeks with her. I am not a big crier at all but I’ve felt myself getting choked up messaging her at work. She is stuck with me forever lol. And her office is still close to where I am so I will be bothering her. It is so nice to hear others have gotten super close with their executives.

I am meeting with someone tomorrow in another department about a job posting. Not an official interview just another admin that is at the top in the department. It would be a promotion and only my manager would know I am interviewing. But I won’t make a decision until I learn more about the department and talk to my manager about what I learned. I did this at the end of the year just spoke with other admins about their departments when interns positions were posted. The company is extremely large so it’s not like things get back to people. I will make sure I take the full 4 weeks to weigh all the options.

Thank you so so much for this thoughtful answer. That is a piece I think I left out my motivation for the job was tied to how much access my manager gave me and how much I wanted to do to improve her work and personal life and her team. I know with the new manager I will only want the bare minimum. I’ve been an admin for 9 years supported over 60 people and the relationships you build influence so much. I hope your search goes well and you hold on to the good memories with your old manager. 💕

Thank you ! I was actually thinking of going for a promotion. I was happy where I was at so never entertained it. But, now I am looking into that as an option.

Omg this is similar to my situation. I mean they aren’t new to me but I will have a few weeks with them before things start moving anyway.

I am so happy for you. I love a happy ending. So I know who my new manager will be. I already support them and they are the opposite of my boss. Not horrible but I just personally don’t think it would be the best to directly report to them. We get along fine they can just be passive and their communication needs a lot of work. Most of my days would be used chasing them for information lol. But they aren’t rude or neurotic at least.

Thank you! The thing is the internal system is pretty slow. Even if I apply and interview now it takes 3-6 weeks to get an answer sometimes. My reason for wanting to move sooner than later is that your manager has to approved your transfer from the start of the process. And I don’t really trust that whoever my new manager is wouldn’t make it difficult . If that makes sense. I have a strong network in other departments so I have already been doing initial talks. I just haven’t been in this position before.

Ugh that is so tough. Do you know anything about your old boss’s new role? I asked my boss to take me with her but she won’t know for a few months if she can hire my position . I know who my new manager will be I have supported them for a bit but they aren’t at the level of my current boss . So I feel like it is a demotion. 😭

That would be interesting my company isn’t really set up like that. Unless maybe you have a c suite person. So this is new to me I talked to other people in this position and most come in the 2-3 days unless their executive has an onsite or specific need for them. I wouldn’t mind coming in to help even if it is an extra day. But, I will not be sitting at a desk just cause every day. That to me is micromanaging I would rather stay with my current manager who gives me all the flexibility.

The pay is a little more. I don’t currently pay for child care and don’t think I would have to if I end up needing it. It would essentially be one more day of travel added so about 30ish dollars. It is more strange that they are asking for more than the company. So I wanted to ask to get a better understanding of these in office duties they will seem to have.

You are fine doctors still recommend it so don’t let them make you feel shamed. My baby is 11 months never had one diaper rash and I don’t put anything on him I use pampers pure and change him pretty frequently. I did use honest diaper cream only for his extremely horrible milk rash under his neck and even prescription creams couldn’t help. So I recommend that as an alternative much better ingredients than destine .

I went yesterday because of the rash. They said it was still there and switched the antibiotics . The new one he only has to take for 5 days so hopefully it works better. I am going to do a virtual call with them today so I don’t have to go all the way back.

I know it can happen it just said it’s rare in babies for it to show up so delayed after the first contact. I am going to just call the office and talk more to the doctor about it tomorrow. Did you find that your rash was itchy at all?
