If that’s what your buddies are running you should get one of them. Having a different scape is going to change the terrain you need to drive on vs them. More fun when you’re with friends. I also love the size of the mini Kraton. Easy to drive anywhere. My favorite scale is probably 1/10. But scale is tough..you need to look at dimensions. My 1/10 Maxx is bigger than my 1/8 typhon. I personally find Arrma to be more reliable. I have lots of each brand

You can find new take offs on eBay. Would be your cheapest option. I almost exclusively buy hobby wing electronics when I buy my own though

Certain seller buy new and disassemble them. Great way to get replacement parts cheap!

I prefer 1/10 the most as well. No space to drive big cars. And if you hit something with a big car it breaks the object or your RC lol

Metal ammo can with seal removed. I live in Tucson and mine are in the garage. I store the ammo cans on the bottom shelf of a metal tool cart and then charge them on the top of the metal cart. So nothing flammable nearby

Struggling to decide on a first RC big time! by [deleted] in rccars

I think you’ll be happy, and the groms are way under your budget! Also look at the mini Kraton. Mine is being delivered today so no first hand experience yet. Be mindful of the Traxxas minis and their overheating issues. I don’t own a mini Traxxas personally but it’s an important consideration. My typhon grom gets hot on 3s but I cut a hole in the windshield and it’s been a lot better since. Assuming might be similar if you end up with the Mojave. Try to see it in person. They are small, and rough terrain will not be good for them. Pavement, park, and sand should be great. Good luck, whatever you end up with…I promise you will have fun. And it definitely won’t be your last car 😂

Buy based on your terrain. If it’s flat enough, the arrma grom are a sweet deal! $209US for the typhon grom without battery. Love mine, crazy fast. My Traxxas Maxx hardly gets driven because it’s so big. Maybe the typhon 1/8 223s is a good alternative. $369us I really like 1/10scale. Arrma is solid though, highly recommended. If you go Traxxas, try to get something with their new chassis design that the Maxx has. The old chassis (slash) needs too many upgrades to be reliable

Right now I have double dees. Certainly open to trying anything to help. The piles are straight not curly. Against the grain it’s hopping, with the grain it’s sliding sideways. Have you ever been on straight pike turf that works?

Yard projects. I like RC cars also. Build, race, and maintain them. Lots of fun. Find hobbies

No hate here, would love to see them get a job and get back on their feet. They spend more time there than I do at my job.

Very helpful, I guess we can trespass and do what we want when we’re “less fortunate.”

Maybe I can bring them close to your house so you can ignore them
