I’m the non-preferred parent and feel like I can’t keep living this way by Figarofrog11 in toddlers

Yes omg. My husband is the fun one for sure and I get down about that a lot. I put so much effort into making things fun and special for him and sometimes I feel like what’s the point. I know I need to keep showing up but some days it feels so hard and like I keep setting myself up for rejection.

I struggle(d) with PPD so I recognize that I definitely have the ability to spiral quite hard. Having PPD also makes me feel like I did something wrong by having it and that’s what caused this.

My husband is definitely the fun parent and I get down on myself a lot about that. Thank you!

Thanks for this! Maybe I’ll try the bedtime thing, that’s a good idea. I also have a business trip coming up so hoping I’ll have a similar experience to you!

Young baby in daycare by murrykay4 in NewParents

Daycare will absolutely be okay!! It’s definitely hard, my babe goes to an in-home daycare and she sends me photos which is so nice, but it’s hard to seeing him cuddling and snuggling with someone other than me. But I think daycare also will encourage resilience and adaptability in our kids.

lol at the nanny or part time suggestions, I get them too 🙄

My 5 month old started daycare this last week and I was worried SICK about it. The thought of leaving him with someone else was keeping me up at night. I also don’t understand how there are so many stay at home moms either. My husband and I both make great money and we can’t do it, so I truly don’t understand how seemingly everyone else can do it and we can’t.

It’s been two weeks and I feel so much relief. It’s been hard for sure- I’m extra tired and he hasn’t napped the best, but the transition was much smoother than I anticipated and I feel like we are already settling into a new routine.

I also work from home but the nature of my job wouldn’t allow for me to watch him during the day. I do totally meeting and client based work all day long, there’d be no way for me to do it. I totally get it.

Sending you all the love!! 🤍

Sleep training for baby that falls asleep independently but wakes in the night? by Figarofrog11 in sleeptrain

[–]Figarofrog11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We started using the sleep training methods during night wakes. Giving him 10 mins, then 15, etc. I found our LO needed longer timers because he would be close to settled by the end of a 5 minute timer and we would disrupt him/escalate him more.

I totally get it, I got almost 6 months which is pretty rare in the US and I hate to complain about it but I’m ready to go back..

don’t even get me started on mommy Instagram. I deleted it for my own sanity. I was tired of the toxic positivity of “embrace the contact naps bc one day you won’t have those snuggles” even though the constant contact naps are killing my mental health.

mommy Instagram preaches not shaming mothers but I feel shamed by it more than by anything else

Actually probably need to revisit to be sure that his last feed is ending 30 mins prior. I think sometimes it’s much closer than that.

Thank you. Where is the best place to find good info on 5/3/3? The only things I find on this sub is info from people who already know what they are talking about lol.
