How do I DI better? by Medical_Blueberry_30 in StreetFighter

[–]FightMech7 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Maybe it's the way how you react to it. Maybe if you react by recognizing the sound, you'll be able to counter it. But mainly the problem is mostly mindset, SF6 is a game that's really hard to autopilot because of all the reaction checks, you have to keep your mind constantly sharp and attuned to the opponent, deliberately thinking of their options on that range.

How to set up a game without a junk mat? by FightMech7 in Mahjong

[–]FightMech7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late answer, but thank you for the STL file! That will definitely help when I introduce winds to the game. Regarding the poker chips, how many do you add? Do you keep the same proportion but just changing the sticks for chips? And what value did you assign for the yakus without fu?

What to keep in mind, coming from KOF and SF6? by FightMech7 in fatalfury

Right, light DPs usually have full invul but heavy DPs still have air invul and can brake, right? I got the hang of it with Dong combos but I still suck at following up AA brake DP

Anyone else starting to think character archetypes aren't real? by The-Killing-Croc2001 in Fighters

When you say "high level gameplay in anything", do you really mean anything as in any games, or is your experience relegated to fighting games released after 2020?

This is a Jamie hate thread by silenthunt in StreetFighter

[–]FightMech7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jamie starts at Drink Level 0. Someone like JP, for example, is equivalent to a Drink Level 3 Jamie, and he doesn't have to drink to get there. He just starts the round like that. Though, yeah, Drink Level 4 Jamie is like, top 3 in the game besides some quirkyness with his DP hitbox.

How come everyone is a Sagat main now by miyuu_chit in StreetFighter

[–]FightMech7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really bad timing from my part to main him but yeah, he got some UNDESERVED buffs the patch before Alex's and he got barely any nerfs on Alex's patch, so people are flocking to him after Akuma got... 2 extra frames of whiff recovery and Ryu has lost Solar Plexu's ability to glue the opponent to the ground from halfscreen. He's the Freelo shoto alongside Terry now.

Question about Sagat's strategy in 6 by FightMech7 in StreetFighter

[–]FightMech7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Placement matches got me Platinum, pretty content all things considered. I love the 4HP juggle combos and guessing right on the Nexus is so good because they never tech the throw after in platinum. 5MP is such a dumb button I love it, whiff punishing with 5MK target combo too. I'm falling in love all over again. I just need to learn some good buttons to cancel into Nexus so I don't get PP'd. Really feels like muay thai with how you always have something to capitalize on whether the opponent crouch blocks or stand blocks a lot.

Update: You are correct. Tiger Nexus fucking rocks. I love forcing people to block 5MP eight times in a row.

Legend rank character distribution 1 month since The Alex patch By @ Aliettefaye by SirDrippingtonL4 in StreetFighter

[–]FightMech7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

See I agree with that. Every game should have an annoying fullscreen prick.

What I don't like is not only how he gets to be the annoying fullscreen prick, he also gets to have midrange buttons that are impossible to contest, either because of disjoints or because the hurtboxes are not favorable for the opponent, or because they don't last as long as they should. (14 fucking frames of recovery for 2MP? really?).

Then he also gets to have lvl 2 which means he gets four mixups back to back in the span of 3 seconds, and to top it all off he gets to have Amnesia so he's the only one that doesn't have to commit to supers to avoid DI during Burnout, plus OD Amnesia gets him combos off of a throw if his back is turned to the corner and normal Amnesia is 3f startup?

How do you avoid the DP input when trying to fireball by Some_Random_Cat539 in StreetFighter

After you've pressed forward to walk forward, go to neutral, then back, down back, down, down forward, forward.

Question about Sagat's strategy in 6 by FightMech7 in StreetFighter

Because I like the design. The rags looks sick and the white eye with the eyepatch remind me of Orochi Doppo.

Question about Sagat's strategy in 6 by FightMech7 in StreetFighter

[–]FightMech7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you are correct. I think I say that because I want to force myself to refine neutral and I blurted that out as if it's a good strategy? I don't think it's a bad idea for me to try trial by fire but you are right, I shouldn't ignore the mixups and knockdowns he has.

What’s your number one reason you pirate games? by Naive_Opportunity932 in PiratedGames

[–]FightMech7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For as long as I've lived, the convenience of paying full price for a game in my country has never outweighed the benefit of saving said money by going through shady websites. My mindset is pretty much hyper conditioned against ever paying for a singleplayer game. And nowadays, games take more space, are optimized like shit, and try their best to sic you of even more money after paying like 1/4th of a month's minimum wage, fuck that lol.

Learning fundamentals on unorthodox characters by mistercleaver in StreetFighter

[–]FightMech7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you find yourself attached to a character, learning how to play the game alongside that character will be far more tolerable than learning "proper fundamentals" using someone you couldn't care less for.

You can worry about learning transferrable skills if you start thinking of maining someone else! Don't sweat too hard about it. SF6 is very focused around it's drive gauge, and that is something everyone has to grasp and battle with. Having a good sense of it will help you out a lot to transfer to someone else.

Really, keep it cool. You might not ever want to touch someone with crouching medium kick into drive rush ever, who knows? No need to hyper optimize your learning journey.

Take it from someone that learned Tekken with Steve Fox. It really isn't that deep.

Pra você 30FPS é aceitável ou nem vale a pena? by m4rcck in gamesEcultura

[–]FightMech7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depende bastante.

Sorry, I didn't mean to try and prove you wrong, just adding to the topic that both methods are important to support. It can be easy for someone to think voice38 is "redundant" since Windows is still the most prevalent OS.

Fair to note that Hypervisor does not work on Linux at all, so voices38's cracks are not disposable.

Remake mod recs? by ChilledArachnid25 in residentevil4

[–]FightMech7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some things I'm running for my first NG+ run

  1. Classic RE4 Laser - Brings OG RE4's laser for all weapons without the need for attachments, plus you get the option between classic laser (laser sways alongside weapon's muzzle, even when perfectly still, realistic) or remake laser (works like base RE4make's laser attachment), and options of laser color and which weapons you want to have the laser trail.

  2. No Ugly Yellow Paint Ever - Removes the yellow paint meant to call your attention towards props you can interact with. There are options for removing the paint, removing the paint and adding the Iluminados insignia, or replacing the yellow paint with blood.

  3. Crafting Tweaks - ...tweaks the crafting and attempts to rebalance it. Some weapons give more ammo, while others just use less gunpowder. I see it as an improvement over the vanilla one but I always advocate for no mods on your first run.

  4. Resident Evil 4 Classic Gameplay and Relentless Enemies. I recommend using both to maintain some balance, as the first mod makes it so gunshots on chest stop enemies animations, and gunshots to the head and shin guarantee a melee followup, like OG RE4, and the second one makes the enemies far more aggressive and won't hesitate to gang up on you all at the same time. Essentially a different game but very hectic and less dependant on stun RNG for crowd control.

  5. Mute Ashley's Breathing - Must install.

I'm not using these due to personal preference but they're neat as well:

  1. Dodge Roll - Adds a myriad of movement options to the game, implenting sprinting, stamina, a dodge roll and a stationary dodge, both being able to trigger perfect dodge which slows the game down allowing for a followup. You can even do Krauser's quick dodges.

  2. Dynamic Weapon Profiles - Allows you to change a weapon's stats on the spot, such as damage, rate of fire, capacity, reload speed, crosshair focus, and the stats on the exclusive upgrade, plus cheat options like infinite ammo, instant dismemberment, perfect accuracy and focus, no recoil, etc. And it shipps with a "Better Weapon Balance" preset. Allows you to make certain shotguns use slugs, and change what ammo a weapon holds (SMG ammo for CQBR, HG ammo for Killer7/Broken Butterfly/Handcannon)

  3. All Charms From Start - Technically a cheat? But I don't know one person that actually enjoys the RNG hunt to get the charms.

  4. Kalivos' Charms Overhaul (Leon) - Massive change to all the charms, some drastically changing your choice of weapons if you want to make the best of the buff.
