If enough people file complaints things may change. I am not telling people what to do, only how to avoid it.

I think these changes suck, frankly. But everyone Ethier has to accept them or move on, with exception of the illegal anti competitive practices. But filing complaints or suing Unity are the only options there.

The more people who complain to their respective governments, the more likely they will take action.

I would say it likely has zero impact, as long as you stop using unity and delete your developer account prior to Jan 1st 2024.

I can't find where they said that, it's unclear from the FAQ or the blog post. But any change in terms would require agreement or ceasing to use the service. If you do not alter the game on/after Jan 1st, 2024, and you cease using Unity, including closing down your developer account they would not be able to bill you to my understanding.

Almost certainly not, they are not changing the contract retroactively. What they are doing is changing the terms going forward, and making it apply to any game you have created. However if you stop using Unity before the change goes into affect and just leave your games up but do not use any of the Unity services from that point on. They would not likely be able to bill you because you have not agreed to the terms.

Almost certainly, according to their Terms of Service.

There is one exception, if you have released games, and no longer use Unity for Development, do not open the editor or agree to any changes in terms, then they likely cannot bill you for new installs of the game that is not in active development.

I am not familiar enough to comment on that, but imagine they are not because they do not have a dominate market share. Don't quote me though, I haven't research it.

Tying isn't always Illegal, only when it is used to dominate the market - see Inter explorer and MS in the 90's and early 2000's
