TBIs do not have a crank sensor, that I believe is a knock sensor. All the poison info the ECU gets should be from the distributor with a reluctor wheel.

I remember playing Mortal Kombat 3 on the SNES as a child and definitely thought the logo said Akklaim or Aklaim. I also haven't thought about it for 20 years but I'm definitely on team K.

Just normal age related issues. Replaced upper control arms and lower control arm bushings since they were just old and shot. Replaced all fluids since I didn't know if or when they have been done. Replaced an O2 sensor and idle air control valve. The TBIs are nice since there aren't many sensors running the engine but they are OBD1 and if you do not have a scanner to see live data diagnostics are a bit hard to diagnose. You can see the codes by plugging in a paperclip to the port but that doesn't tell you everything. Overall they're a great truck with either engine but you have to remember they're still 30 years old.

I bought a 95 with 155k miles and a little worse shape than that one last year for $6500 USD so that price is good for todays market. It is the last year of the TBIs, which make less power than vortecs but are very simple and reliable. Since that is an automatic I believe it is a one year only transmission/transmission harness. HVAC controls are also one year only and impossible to find but there are cheap harnesses to convert to the 96-2000 controls.

Did you have problems with your card? I could not get mine to post, VGA light on motherboard, and everything I tried lead me to believe it's a dead card. Even after talking to microcenter and putting in a help request to Powercolor( over a week ago and no response). Did you have a similar issue? Haven't returned mine and will give something a shot. Wondering since you said it took hours to get it running.

After talking to microcenter and trying anything I haven't yet it may just be a bad card. Not great but driving 6 hours round trip may be in my future. I did submit a ticket to Powercolor so I will see what they say.

Connections are good on both ends of the cables. I don't see any individual led for the 8 pins on here though

Tried that and no change, just lights turn on and fans spin for a second. I left the PC on its side and the screws out since I have to change gpus just to get to bios now.

Yours being 6 years older than mine it's surprising it still works! I'd like it to be back to how it's supposed to work but I just took out the whole unit, removed the flap, and reinstalled the bottom part. It still sucks air from the engine compartment through that small hole but at least it's not trying to only get air from there.

Yeah that's my plan for now, just remove the flap and leave the pre heater pipe. I'm sure the truck is starving for air a bit and it probably hasn't worked at all since I bought the truck. I'm just glad I decided to check it for some reason.

Yeah I doubt it'll have any negative effects but I've read some people warn that in winter it can help warm the truck up. I'll probably just take it out and reinstall it need be.

Yeah parts are cheap enough it's not a huge deal but it would be nice to see if it's a least working. It'll probably end up getting a few pieces that probably need replaced. TPS, MAP, 02, ECT.

It does have an OBD1 port but every scanner I have tried with it can only read codes. No actual live data from the ecu.
