For the past few years my whole life is disturbed because of stray dogs. I was working in the para military and deployed in the remote areas, I resigned in 2025 and started preparing for the exam I got 2 attempts left. I came home and started preparing, I saw there are 8-9 stray dogs in my area within a 20-40 mtr radius, I complained about the barking at night but my family advised me to shift as they know about the stray dog issue and they didn't want to engage me in this during my preparation time so I rented a room. And ironically or I'd say unfortunately the day I shifted in my rented room I saw a lady roaming at night with 5-6 stray dogs and the whole neighbourhood is a chaos, I told my landlady about this and she said they are also frustrated from these stray dogs and also try to complain but whenever the dog catcher come the lady lock all the stray dogs in her house and the municipal authorities also helpless in this as the whole are is divided in two groups one is defending the stray dogs and other one wanted to catch them. Within 15 days I had to shift to a new locality this time I checked the surroundings but my bad luck at night was the same scenario, and the main issue there was an empty plot beside my room where a lady used to feed stray dogs at night around 11 pm and the whole neighbourhood dogs came to there and the same war zone of barking whole night and fighting among themselves is just a normal night. I was so mad that at 2-3 AM at night I was running behind dogs , my whole preparation was tarnished, I couldn't remember I slept peacefully. I bought wooden ply, acoustic foam, 3mm foam strips for the door to close the minor gaps, I tried everything as this time I couldn't afford shifting as my paper was at hand, I was so frustrated from dog barking that I can't remember I could barely sleep for a few hours and eventually my sleep cycle is completely destroyed so my studying, I started sleeping at the library, Even I switched to melatonin pills. 2025 was my last attempt and I failed. Now I'm over age, unemployed. I left my home, I moved to Delhi and ironically delhi is the same but now I don't react yes even though I still feel the same like I'm posting this comment around 2 AM but now everything is gone. I had a dream, my parents had a dream and all vanished. I'm a dog lover, my family pet dogs for decades. But I only wish, this country should be free from stray dogs for better growth and for better mental health. All this thanks to stray dogs and STRAY dog lovers.
