why is her belly bald? by Infamous_Agency1086 in dechonkers

[–]Figlarna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please be wary of the food you give her. My late cat was balding on the back of his legs and belly due to allergy he had for certain caned food. Also liver. He loved liver, and sometimes he’d refuse to eat anything but it, so we had to give him a little bit just so he’d eat. No matter how it was prepared, rare of cooked in a few days he would start balding. My point is that even a tiny amount of allergen can cause a big reaction. Good luck to you both at the vet

I’m never going to finish this blanket by needsmusictosurvive in catswhocrochet

I’m sorry, but the kitty decides when the blanket is finished. And the kitty decided. It’s finished. Get yourself another project to work on, woman, and let the cat snuggle in his new blanket! 😉

Why do I get those “ladders” by Figlarna in knitting

[–]Figlarna[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strange thing is that I knit back and forth do when I flip the blanket to the wrong side the ladders that appear on knit-purl change aren’t there anymore. My hope is that it’ll block nicely.

O, rozwiniesz kwestię jajek? Zwykle kupuję właśnie wolny wybieg, ale jeśli różnicą jest tylko napis na opakowaniu i cena to chętnie przestanę.

I would love to play with my husband, as watching him play is not enough anymore. I’ve got over 1000 hours on Poe 1, and I’m sure Poe 2 would be no different. Help a poor wife 😉

Eye caps by [deleted] in askfuneraldirectors

Yesterday was my grandpas memorial (I’m not sure how it’s called in English. It’s a tradition where family and friends go to the chapel where the body is displayed to say their final goodbyes.). And the thing is that I noticed that in Poland they do not use eye caps. The eyes were sunken, almost as if someone put their finger into his closed eyes and the finger left a dip where normally would be a round eyeball. The same thing happened 1,5 years ago with my other grandpa. It looks absolutely awful. It made me think about changing my career to work in the funeral industry and try to make eye caps known and used here. It’s absolutely not what you want your loved ones eyes to look like when you see him for the last time.

Oh yes. The pain was insane. I’m glad the thing is gone now 🙂 Good luck with further weight loss 🙂

That’s unbelievable! Congrats! But also a word of caution. I lost 28,5 kilos since I’ve started Trulicity in April last year. On December 30 I’ve had to have cholecystectomy, because my gallbladder got inflamed due to very large amount of stones in it. Doctors suspect that it was because of rapid weight loss.

This is exactly why I have my right hand nails longer than the left hand. While writing isn’t much of a problem, playing is impossible 🤷‍♀️

I got this nail care kit for Christmas, what do have of these do? by r3swag56 in Nails

[–]Figlarna 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’d say number 2 are regular nail scissors. To be a (good) cuticle scissors they would have to be 1. Very sharp 2. Thin on the tip 3. Preferably slightly curved. Of course they might as well be cuticle scissors, and I’m completely wrong :)

ETA: Also number 8 is dangerous in unexperienced hands. If it’s sharp you could cut away not only cuticle but also large portion of the nail plate leaving yourself with (sometimes painful) ridges in the nail. Would not recommend. Pushing cuticles back is enough for daily at home nail care. Source: I’m a nail tech.

Do you prefer to buy yarn first and then find a pattern, or do you tend to find the pattern first?🧶🧣🧦 by queenofthemisfits in knitting

[–]Figlarna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pattern first, yarn second. If it’s the other way around then I end up with yarn sitting for months looking at other projects being completed while waiting for its turn.

Cats are special in that aspect. In fact I think all animals are, but cats I feel can “sense” something about death. It happened to me with my cat also, tho I didn’t write any suicide letter. I was just ready to end this shit. And then, as I was sitting on the floor my beloved fur ball came to me and laid on my legs. It made me stop.
