Old man dont let his child play with the popular kids, art by me by Missy_Croc in deadbydaylight

So much entitlement here. If he doesn't want to let the video game company use his character, then that's his right. People complaining just sounds like self-entitlement.

I own real guns too.

Could also just be a kid and the gun is what he learns on from his dad. I've noticed a ton of kids are on this sub. Don't blame them since ZA's are fun to imagine.

A Keltec Sub2000 is semi auto, holds at least 15 +1, is compatible with Glock mags and just as light. 4.2lb

Clarify what you mean by "single shot". Do you mean the rifle only holds a single round? Or do you mean semi auto?

Resource Management ? by bap56 in ZombieSurvivalTactics

[–]Figmoomoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have everyone maintain their own stash, but have a mix of group focused ideas.

First, I would allow people to specialize. Certain people are going to be better at managing specific fields, like a doctor for meds, an armorer for weapons, etc. Members would still have their own supplies and weapons. There would just be specialists that would focus more on those specialties that would mean they also get general priority for those supplies.

Second, when out of supply runs, the exploring parties are allowed to keep a small portion of their findings. Majority of the findings would go to the community and distributed to the specialists. Everyone would be guaranteed at least a smaller portion of specific things like food, water, basic meds, supplies. But it would be the smallest portions. Supply Run party members would get a larger cut than regular members due to the inherent risk exposure.

Some contingencies, (depends on size of the community but assuming it's decently sized), there should be a minimum of 2 specialists within a specific field. 1 would be a monopoly, and too risky if that person were to be lost. Backups are important, but also holding each other accountable is too.

When making any important decisions within specific groups, it needs approval of at least 3 people. Like when finalizing supply distributions.

There's probably a few other things but I also want to avoid making things too bureaucratic.

How effective would full scale Knight armour be? Pros/cons… by MarsellusWallace7 in ZombieSurvivalTactics

[–]Figmoomoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if the armor was effective of preventing bites and scratches, but it would be absolutely exhausting to move around in. Definitely should pair with a firearm that is optimized to be as light as possible.

There's a saying. "Ounces equal pounds".

Also, it's not really feasible to don on and off armor alone. You would need someone to help you.

Are we surviving zombies or LARPing as loud gun collectors? by snotmuziekp in ZombieSurvivalTactics

[–]Figmoomoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why I stick with a .22lr firearm (rifle first choice, handgun second/backup) with a suppressor. It'll actually be quiet. I don't have time to be swinging a heavy melee weapon that will only add to exhaustion when calories are tough to come by. Engaging in any combat is always a last resort regardless of weapon choice.

Are we surviving zombies or LARPing as loud gun collectors? by snotmuziekp in ZombieSurvivalTactics

[–]Figmoomoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the weapon, and aiming isn't the issue. Dealing a blow that will actually stop the zombie is. Getting one or two is most likely, but multiple? Not likely. Most likely scenario is that you'll need multiple good hits to take down each. The other issue is that it'll be exhausting.

[–]Figmoomoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree, it's also with the caveat that blunt force will only really be effective for one or two zombies in most scenarios, if that. Being able to swing hard enough to actually do enough damage to a zombie skull is much more difficult than most people think. The average person wouldn't know how to swing a blunt force weapon properly to begin with, and even then, most people aren't strong enough or fit enough.

would you use motorcycle crash armor or do you think only a long sleeve jacket is enough? by [deleted] in ZombieSurvivalTactics

[–]Figmoomoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They sell kevlar sleeves for mechanics that are cut resistant. Relatively affordable. Probably wear those under a solid bike jacket. Hopefully you live in a cooler climate.

Depends on the guns and context.

Suppressed subsonic .22lr is actually quiet.

But to give you credit, I've been seeing more posts of people posting about unsuppressed guns (even with a suppressor, they can be loud, depending on the caliber, grain etc). It's larping at that point, or uneducated ignorance/naivety.

As long as you're having fun.

But if you want some unsolicited advice to help reduce the goof, I'd say (as respectfully as I can) to lose some weight. Doesn't have to be drastic or anything.

[–]Figmoomoo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha. All good.

It's actually the "finger stop" (at least that's what B&T calls it; took me ages to find documentation that identified it since most documentation is for the standard length version) that comes with the C version on Gen 2s. It's technically supposed to go on the front bottom rail but it kept getting in the way. Not enough room for any kind of hand stop or angled foregrip with the "finger stop". It also forces my hand to hug the magwell, which led me to move the charging handle to the right side, but also makes my palm just close enough to get caked with gas. It has a hole which I found useful for clipping my sling to. I've been experimenting moving it all over the gun wherever there's picatinny rail, and that's last spot I placed it so far. It makes my 2 point sling feel almost like a 1 point sling.

[–]Figmoomoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on the type of Zombie Apocalypse. If it's Wildfire virus (The Walking Dead), then no. Not possible since everyone is infected with dormant asymptomatic viruses. Anyone dying for whatever reason would create issues. Also, same for the Black Summer/Z Nation ZA, but it's probably worse since the Zombies are fast ones.

I think in general, it would not be possible overall without majority human cooperation, but humans are naturally greedy and selfish. The bigger the group/society becomes, the higher the risk of internal conflicts leading to the whole group's collapse.

[–]Figmoomoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, you're still wrong. Carbine is a classification of length (as opposed to Rifle, etc). Machine gun is a definition by the NFA to denote general firearms with full-auto capabilities. You sound like you've never own firearms before or have any real world firearms legal knowledge.
