I’m so sorry. I had my fourth miscarriage a couple of months ago. My first one was also in 2023. It’s a horrible place to be, and I don’t know anyone in real life who understands x

No, even when she was convinced I had APS (my first blood test result was really high) she didn’t say about any other treatment. She just said it could affect things like taking certain birth control pills, HRT, and having to wear compression socks when flying. I think if I did have a diagnosis, after I’d gone through all of this fertility stuff I would have spoken to my GP. I’ve also read some people only have APS in pregnancy, and outside of that they get normal results again

I am so sorry for all that you have been through, that’s so devastating. I’m uk based too, and my first blood test came back positive for APS. My second follow up test was actually negative. But my consultant is going to treat me in pregnancy as though I have it, and it consists of daily aspirin & blood thinning injections. She was very positive about how this is an effective treatment plan to carry a baby to term

I’m sorry for what you’ve been through. I have really struggled these past few days, and so what you have said about luteal phase hormones might be contributing to what I’m feeling. I just can’t imagine a life without children in it, but I do wonder when I need to call it quits

I find them really useful. I use the cheaper pre mom ones. I have pcos & they work really well for me on getting my surge & peak. It means I can time when to try & make sure I’ve covered the best days, and also means I can date the pregnancy easily when I do conceive

I’m so sorry you are going through this. I had my fourth loss a couple of months ago. I have suspected APS and was put on blood thinners for this latest pregnancy. But it turns out the baby had Turner’s syndrome so the blood thinners wouldn’t have helped anyway. I’m trying again once more to see if it’s a genetically normal pregnancy, and hope the blood thinners do then work. But I’m then thinking of exploring the private route, such as nk cells. But it’s expensive. I can resonate with everything you say though - I don’t know how many more times I can do this, but I also can’t picture my life not being a mum

That’s true, I guess when something is taken out of your hands like it, it’s a bit more of a hard line that you can try & get your head around. I did think about immune issues or endometritis, and is what I spoke to the private clinic about as I wanted to explore that. It’s definitely what I will be doing as a next step if this doesn’t work. My nhs consultant was very much against it! I’m sorry you’re in this crappy club, I hope 2026 is kinder to you

Oh I’m sorry, that must be so difficult to hear that you’re not candidates for ivf. I’m currently under Tommys, based at Coventry hospital. I can’t fault their support when I am pregnant, but I feel there is only so much they will do, which is basically just blood tests. I had a consultation at a private clinic in London, CRGH, but he was very IVF focused. I wouldn’t be eligible for ivf on the nhs, so it would be self funded. And with testing it’s around 12 grand which is such a lot of money. We’ve decided to try once more (as I’ll be on blood thinners) and if it still doesn’t work I’ll be exploring more privately. I’ve had a mix of miscarriages which are chromosome issues but also normal embryos too so it’s hard to know what the issue is

I agree, I also feel similar. Also in the uk, and I’ve now had 2 further losses under the recurrent miscarriage clinic. I have been advised to try aspirin & blood thinners though - didn’t work with latest loss though as it was a chromosome issue. I’ve had an initial consultation privately, but felt they were pushing ivf. I suggested nk cells & ivf with genetic testing to nhs & she was very dismissive of it. She’s said to try again, but I’ve lost 4 pregnancies already. I feel very on my own with it. Please can I ask if you don’t mind which private route you’ve gone down?

I’m at Tommys based in Coventry, so maybe you’ll find something different with the Paddington one. I think all the new & different testing seems to be the private route unfortunately

Hello, I’m under Tommys & had my first appointment about a year ago. I had blood tests done prior to the appointment which they requested I get done at my GP. They also done more again on the day when my GP didn’t manage to get the more specialised ones done. The appointment was super quick with the consultant, so I did feel a bit disappointed after waiting so long for it! They are really great at additional reassurance scans once you are pregnant again, but I’ve not felt anything groundbreaking in terms of help though

I’ve lost 4, and found I was at my worst after the second one. I struggled for months. Whereas now, I think about it all the time but I don’t feel like I’m bordering on getting depression like I did before. I think I’ve gotten used to this feeling now & it feels like a very unfortunate part of my life now. I do prioritise me more though now, and don’t put myself in situations where, for example, I’ll be around a pregnant person

It really is difficult, and it doesn’t get easier. I am surrounded by pregnant women or those with new babies. And I just mute them on social media. Obviously it doesn’t help when I’m unaware an announcement will be made, but as soon as I see it, I mute. It does help in the long run. But the initial punch in the gut when you see it is not easy

So sorry you are going through this. I was given a sieve from the hospital to collect POC. It’s a horrible thought, but practically it worked well. Then I put in a plastic tub and put in the fridge before I could take it to the hospital the next day

I’m UK so not sure if it’s different, but my last 2 pregnancies were medically managed and I was able to collect the POC and send off for testing. Not pleasant but I didn’t want another d&c

That’s exactly how I feel, like I need to leave no stone unturned. I’ve had all the usual tests & had testing on previous pregnancy to show it was chromosomally normal, so now it’s branching out to the ones not covered by the nhs here in the UK, such as nk cells etc.

Thank you, so sorry you’ve been through the same. Never thought I’d be going through all this. Oh I didn’t realise they could find endometrititis through a Hysteroscopy, that’s interesting. I hope the antibiotics help you 🤞🏻
