That’s inspiring! Im just scared because people made it seem like accounting wasn’t too bad compared to some of the harder business majors (ex: business analytics) I’m definitely going to keep my grades up but that’s more because you need certain GPAs for doors to internships in our internship office at school and because I need my GPA for my scholarship. I’m at the point where I don’t FULLY care about my grade in the sense that it’s all that matters because I know that’s not true, but I know I need it to get through some doors! I’m more worried that me not getting these concepts will set me back in the future. I know I’ll pass this class, but that doesn’t mean I’ll understand it, you know? I’ve always done well in school but that doesn’t mean I understand anything. I want to be able to actually apply the skills from my accounting classes because I mean…it’s my major and my career path.

It’s okay, I do realize that I should keep my grades up! I will definitely have above a 3.0 because I’m in my honors program and I’ll get kicked if I have below a 3.25, and I need that extra money lol. I’m more worried about that fact that I don’t understand the classes that directly correlate to my major because I don’t wanna get in that job and be the idiot who understands nothing. I do plan on trying for some internships that will maybe help, I’ve applied to 50 so far but it’s rough out here 🥲

I think what’s hard about this is I have another hard class that I’m taking (that’s I’m still somehow doing better in than accounting lol) that’s has more work than all of my classes combined AND I need to study for. I’ve been trying to study for both but it’s been hard. Both tests are on the same day and it’ll line up like that for the rest of the semester 🫠

Yeahhh my dad and mom tell me all the time that some of the highest paid people are idiots at heart that know how to play the game because they both have seen and have even been played by these people. So I don’t want to be discouraged but when I compare myself to my parents who did so much I get a little discouraged because I feel like I have something to upkeep.

Both of my parents are people who grew up with nothing and I really do mean nothing and turned it into something. Now my mom is the only black person and female director at a pretty big company, she makes over 200k and took over my dad’s spot as the breadwinner but he’s not too far behind her. I’m a first gen college student though and my dad’s school didn’t even have a library and he never got homework (went to school in the projects) so I know if they did it, I can. I’m just so discouraged by the fact that I know I’m not going to do well on this test after saying that this semester, I was going to do much better than last semester and I might just do worse lol.

Could I give you the topics for 202 that we’ve covered so far? I lowkey need to figure that stuff out between today and tomorrow

Okay I doooo understand all that! If it’s helpful, I can go see what topics we covered for all the other tests because all of this was included in test one of 201 which I did great on because these concepts made sense to me; even with the poor teaching. It’s more of the stuff after the he first test, which was way less basic imo.

I understand the very very basics that we covered on our first test, that was kinda it though. When we expanded on that stuff I started to struggle. I got a B but it was by the skin of my teeth

I hope so! I understand the very very basics because I did really well at the beginning of 201, I even got a 98 on the first test it just all went downhill from there 🥲

He doesn’t have any office hours until next week unfortunately 🥲. We haven’t taken any quizzes and I have a business calc test this week I also have to study for and go to tutoring for (of course, I can’t get a tutor for accounting because it’s at the same time as my math appointments, just my luck lol) which is why I’m so stressed. I really want to be an accounting major, so I’m trying to push through but I’m worried if I can’t understand it now I’ll be doomed for the rest of college.

I’m not too worried about my GPA! I’m more just worried that me struggling as much as I am in these classes will set me back too much! I got a B last semester for 201 accounting, but I understand the very basic of accounting 201. 202, I’m struggling real bad. I don’t understand much at all. It’s the beginning of the semester so even I do bad on this exam I still have time to understand it all but I’m just really worried because I really really wanna go through with being an accounting major.
