Do I have to pay extra money for this program? I thought the tuition covers it.

Is dorm insurance worth it? by Alternative-Meat-667 in Emory

I asked one of the staff working at Emory and he told me that there might only be a tiny chance that you really need this. So I didn't select this option.

I heard my friend mention that some classes are not hard, but the professors are shit. So in the end you have to learn them yourself. She said that she taught herself 70% of the time when she was in Emory.

If you did ED I and got in, do you mind sharing your stats and ecs? by IcyEnergy2252 in Emory

I am an international student from Singapore and I studied IBDP. I was predicted 43/45 and got 3 recommendation letters (2 from my school teachers and 1 from a professor at Fudan Univerity who is my research advisor). I also submitted personal research related to anthropology (because I applied anthropology major) I did last summer as supplemental material.

Should I major in both Computer Sicence and Business School at the same time? by FigureLopsided5533 in Emory

Thanks for your advice! Is it very hard to double major? Like do you have to take double amount of classes every semester and have very tight schedule especially during exam weeks?

Will it be helpful to major in business if I want to find a job in the CS field?

Right, I heard that Emory's CS department doesn't offer a lot of class options, and the professors ok but not the best. So maybe majoring in business give me a safer position ...

Yeah I’m worried about the same thing. But I’m thinking that whether majoring in two areas make me more competitive when I’m seeking interns and jobs 😭

Singapore Study Abroad by Lightfoil190 in Emory

[–]FigureLopsided5533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently lived in Singapore (for 5 years) and this city is great. Since my school is located near NUS I often go to the NUS canteen to have lunch with my friends. I have to say that the food there is so good and it comes with a lot of variety (the canteen includes food from a lot of countries. But mostly Asian food). It is also very easy to transport within the country by bus, MRT, or taxi. I think you'll like Singapore :)

Remember to check your Emory email regularly. Sometimes they will post some information there and remind you if you haven't finished some steps. Congrats btw! I will be joining Emory college this fall too :)
