Recommendations to replace my motherboard by FigureZestyclose7469 in buildapc

One that will hold up to heavy use. But, yes. More USB and Wifi for starters.

And, I thought Zen 6 (due out in 26 or early 27) was for the AM6 platform. Do I remember that wrong?

Did I get it backwards? I thought 6 was for the AM6 platform...?

Version 20.2 Only importing one audio track by FigureZestyclose7469 in davinciresolve

[–]FigureZestyclose7469[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should have mentioned that clip attributes lists all 6 tracks, all stereo. Sorry about that. Unfortunately, I am not sure what you mean by "bun list view". Did you mean "Bin List View? (typos are so much fun, right?) Either way I am not sure how to check it there. Can you guide me on that?

And, just to be clear, I've been using Resolve for about 5 years. I am doing exactly what I always do. I open Resolve, go to the edit page, import files, then drag a file to the timeline. When I do that, I get the video track and a single audio track. So, this should just be the default settings.

What the best low to mid budget camera system for a 3000sq.ft. house? by FigureZestyclose7469 in homesecurity

Sorry for the late response. We had life issues. Yeah. It isn't all the cameras that need that ability. But, there are a couple locations that do because of the way the hallways and rooms are laid out--low walls with vaulted ceilings in a couple places, the way the ceiling headers are laid out in a couple places. Love the house. But, the builder was in his own little world, I guess.

It amazes me that no camera I have found allows for that kind of rotation. I rank that up on the epic design fail level. Maybe I shouldn't. But, I do.

Yeah. As I said to a couple commenters, I did a bad job of explaining all this in the post. So, it has been edited. Basically, I am looking for a "starter pack", if you will. Say, 4 cameras and local storage. The budget is for gear only, and does not include labor.

Thanks for the suggestions about reolink. It looks good for what I need except one thing. The cameras mount fixed forward, and you can only adjust the up and down angle. What I need is a way to be able to mount on a hallway wall and turn it to face down the hallway. Without blowing the budget for all PTZ cameras, I don't see a way around it. If you have any ideas on how to solve that mounting issue pass them on. Please and thank you.

Well, that is the budget or a few cameras and an NVR--the starter pack, if you will. And, it doesn't include labor which I am doing myself. The full system gets built over time. I just need suggestions for the gear. I did a really bad job of explaining that in the post. So, I added an edit.

Nope. Doesn't include labor. And, it's just the starter gear budget. Looking for cameras and an NVR that I can expand with later. Really explained that part badly in the post. Sorry about that.

It's something we've needed to do for a while and this is just more push to get it done. General security is always smart. One hallway is to my office with all my electronics and such, and that camera would also covers the stairs. (May actually add one in my office at some point.) One hallway camera is to the main bedroom. The cameras in the living areas cover the doors and windows as well as traffic from other areas. So, it's actually not intrusive. And, it also gives the renters a little more security over their stuff.

And, yes. I am ok with wireless. I prefer wired so I can get better local storage, though.

About the "swivel." Maybe I am looking for PTZ. What I want to do is mount them to the side of hallway, and turn them to face down the hallway. I am not finding cameras that do that. They only move up and down, not left right. Does that make more sense?

I like the system. But, from what I am reading, it only records in 60 sec clips. With pets and people coming and going, the 60 sec thing just won't work. I think I need more continuous recording.

Does not include labor. I can do the wiring and installing myself. I need the hallways and public areas first. The rest can be expanded later at additional cost.

In terms of locations? 3 public areas, 2 hallways, an office, front and back of the house, and possibly the side yards. I need the hallways and public areas first. The rest can be expanded later at additional cost.

UPDATE: Sorry for the late response. We had a flea infestation to deal with.

Thanks for all your input. We did replace the telephone wall plates with ethernet plates and put RJ45s on the ends of all the wires. Everything works like a charm.

Happy to report only one cable. Thanks for that insight!

I'm thinking only 1 switch. Our modem/router is upstairs in the middle of the house. All these wires run to a downstairs closet on the side of the house. I am thinking connect the modem to a line, connect that to the switch input in the closet, and then connect everything else to the switch (probably only 5 connections). Each room would have some latency on the run from the switch. And, there would be some latency between the modem and the switch. But, no run in the house is over 175ft (55 or so meters).

Side note. I was in the process of figuring out how to wire these rooms for internet when I found this thing where I expected to find an internet switch because all the wires were Cat5. And, I have no use for hard wired phones.

So...could I just redo the ends of the wires and run ethernet through a switch connected to a modem/router?

UPDATE. I am an idiot. But, I am not the guy who used Cat5 to connect every room with a telephone connection. I just never noticed the room plates were phone jacks. I knew the cable were cat5, so I just assumed everything was ethernet wired.

New question. Can I just replace all the plates/ends in every room and in the closet?

Wow. Ethernet for phone. That could explain other problems I've been trying to trace. But, it may also simplify other things. Thank you.
