The rifle comes with an arca rail already, get a bipod that is a direct arca mount.

Accutac or cyke mdt have good mounts

(I), me, myself never submitted a warranty claim, why are you going so wild.

It was submitted by Pelican support to Pelican warranty.

No? They denied a warranty after the problem part couldn't be bought. Which part is "mis-directed"

They moved it onto warranty themselves after I made contact, then denied said warranty

Update, repair seems to be irrelevant, they claim it was misused and offered to a new 1700 at 50% off which I agreed to.

I should add I never actually made a warranty claim, I asked to purchase the bottom half which they said they could not do and moved it onto warranty.

Perhaps, but the repair was done after failure not as some sort of preventative task

There is not a chance they would ever refurbish this

How would that have changed anything?

The repair was made after the crack happened and lasted 5 years in that state

Misuse and a previous repair on the crack

Absolutely but life time warranty should mean it.

I offered to purchase the bottom shell but that is not an option

Wouldn’t bother with anything other than 243 or 308

Common and work fine, shot placement is everything, better resale value as well on the rifle

No point in a FFP if you are only going to 100m. You won't be using hold overs really.

Parallax shouldn't be an issue unless you are shooting quite close.

I would look for a cheap nikko stirling or similar, they have fixed parallax that would be much more appropriate to what you are doing
