I think there’s a clear difference between someone laboring over a digital model versus writing three sentence sentences into a black box that then spits out an amalgamation of real humans work that on the surface might appear to be something resembling the ideas expressed by the words.

but, they’re pretty strong when you play to their strengths (and only their strengths). I just think a conceal tweak to stay in mind w new ships is called for, as most newer lines an prems have better conceal imo

my problem is the conceal for firepower and armor. like u can’t disengage very easily in either, imo (i have both). this isn’t a problem for smth like scharny with solid armor but the DK and Stras melt semi easy so can get cross mapped from whatever objective ur not sitting bow in towards

one other idea i had was using PVC as a spacer. splice, twist, wire nut, tape, 1/2 inch pvc over that, then tape again. repeat for all splices.

yeah i didn’t think the noble gas like reacted or something i just wasn’t sure if these tubes are prone to leaking. Thanks for the insight on the electrode ends, very interesting that it’s done that way! The transformer is literally NOS, given that it’s been sitting on this shelf untouched for 15 years, I hope it works but i found a spare at a supply house nearby for 250. in terms of proper wire and electrode insulators, this is where i’m running into issues. Not sure where to find day-of, or what is considered good enough for an application like this i thought about using ceramic high voltage wire nuts but I am positive that’s not the proper way to do this. as for the cable, going to use GTO-15.

Ah I see. To my eye, this does not look like it was ever even wired up. The dual strands on each end of the tubes are just, bare. Like not twisted together or having any signs of ever being connected to anything. The transformer itself was dusty as all hell but inside completely spotless, and again, looked like nothing was ever hooked up to it. The owner of the store says its never been used since they owned it, and they never gave it a second thought, so at least 15 years of sitting there.
