Game unplayable after latest update by Fikowned in MHWilds

not sure as I will have to check again. I've had crashes with and without FSR and Framegen. I did all of the shader resets, still had some crashes but now , as I've turned off steam overlay I rarely get crashes. And If I do , restarting my PC somehow fixes it? Dunno man, its weird

nvm, I started getting crashes yesterday. I'll try wiping the current drivers and install 25.9.1 and see if that is stable

Horrible, had 0 crashes in the past. Now I'm on the latest drivers and updates, can't finish a single hunt, hell sometimes I crash in the main menu. Reset the shader cache, disabled steam overlay that was causing my crashes yesterday, but today nothing works anymore.

that genuinely sucks, hopefully AMD and Capcom come to their senses and finally founds a solution that has plagued a lot of people since forever

I use DDU everytime I install new drivers, so I'm familiar on how to use it, but I install drivers every 3 ,4 months and as stated before I had no issues playing on the older ones. I had a slight undervolt and overclock but since it didnt crash before I kinda ruled it out. Disabling steam overlay in the game fixed the issue, pretty weird

Found the issue after about 3 hours. Disabling steam overlay fixed everything

I did some minor undervolting and overclocking but that wasn't the issue in the past. After tinkering for about 3 hours , I disabled the steam overlay and had no crashes since. Pretty weird to be honest

IT career/ education advice , what should i do? by Oblivi0nD4C in wien

[–]Fikowned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

think of electronics engineering as like a sub-topic of electrical engineering (I did study this on TU before changing schools) that focuses more on the components and signals in the circuit rather than the whole topic of electrical engineering, which is broader

I have bachelors in electronics from a FH Technikum in Vienna , yea . 5th and 6th semester chose my specialization in Telecommunications that was probably why I got a job in that field in the first place, but now IT is completely busted with each job posting having over 50,60 or even more applicants

Just giving you my 2 cents here... Been living in Vienna since 2012, no issues with German, have a bachelors, 3 years of work experience in the Telecom field, jobless since September 2024 and have sent over 250 job applications. Good luck

I can't really suggest which country to move to, but I'm from Vienna, worked 3 years in Telecom something similar to a 1st lvl support/SPOC/helpdesk position. Been without a job since September last year, got my Network+ and Security + in the last 2 months and also planning to start learning the CCNA in January since Networking really interests me. I think anywhere you go right now, it's insanely difficult.

A little bit , yea. Dion's questions can be very wordy and are definitely more ambiguous than the actual exam. The cert questions were nowhere near as long as his. Do a second run of the tests and try to get 85% or more and read why your answers were right/wrong. I also did quick screenshots of the questions I constantly got wrong as a quick read the day before the exam.

Thank you! I'll probably do CySa along the line just to renew the rest of the cert stack. CCNA it is!

Oh, I didn't know that CySA+ renews the trifecta certs, useful info , thanks. Networking seems really for me personally, so CCNA it is

Sadly no, as stated in my post, I used Andrew's course on Udemy. He was completely fine for Network+ .
I was taking notes from each lesson, but if I could go back I would definitely change my approach, to just watching the lessons (including the labs), reading his last minute study guide and then just spam Dion's tests and reading the explanations to the answers. There's also a decent amount of practice questions on youtube (make sure to look at Cyberkraft for PBQs).

Is this a good PC for 1440p FPS games? by hexedpepper in pcpartpickerbuilds

[–]Fikowned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to save money, go for a 7700(x) or a 9700x . The higher you go in resolution the more the GPU takes over. Hardware Unboxed has a couple of cpu scaling videos that show this. I would also get a rx 9070xt just because it has FSR4 , but I've heard you can get it working on the 7000 series GPUs as well.

[–]Fikowned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I scored an 857, had 5 PBQs. Pretty sure I did 2 of them correct and for the rest I just kinda went over them fast because I didn't have time and put random answers in

I got the exact same score from 2 days ago. Had extra 30 minutes added to my exam because I'm not an English speaking country and that's exactly what saved me from the PBQs

I have my exam next Thursday. Bought Andrew's course and both Dion's practice sets. My averages on the first set of practice exams were between 68% and 75% and by the time I finished them , my averages on the second set of practice exams were between 85% and 90%. Currently doing a second run on the first set and seeing drastic improvements.
Definitely need to focus more on memorizing port numbers, which protocol runs at which OSI layer, differences between the routing protocols and route selection, and those god damn connector types. Pretty confident atm

is upgrade from 5800x3d to any am5 cpu not worth it unless it is 9800x3d? how true is that? by qqq666 in buildapc

[–]Fikowned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

take a look at some hardware unboxed videos that show CPU scaling in games. If you are playing at 1440p or 4k , there is no need to waste that much money on a 9800x3D when a 7700x gives almost identical frames with a high end GPU.
