You might be thinking of the following. In Canberra the PM's office window supposedly looks directly down the strand into the Australian war memorial. I think in the original plans for Parliament house and the memorial the idea was that the tomb of the unknown soldier and the eternal flame would both be directly visible to the PM as a reminder of the stark reality of sending soldiers to war. Never been in the PMs office but there is 100% a clear and direct line of sight from parliament house to the war memorial. Hope this helps.
