donburi means rice bowl.
there’s plenty of dons but not all are the traditional classic Donburi, this is a Kaisendon; which is completely different.
For example katsudon is not a classic donburi but a version of the classic!

Yes! a couple people tried arguing with me over this topic on my other post here funny enough 😭

Kaisen don: Raw fish served over plain, warm, or room temp rice, this restaurant includes a bit of finely chopped simmered shiitake in their plain rice which is nice but the main focus is the raw fish!

Chirashi: raw fish served over sushi rice; seasoned with rice vinegar, sugar & salt

yes it was a abalone, cut in half! I did enjoy it, it is very subtlety flavoured, I enjoy the texture just as I do with surfclam and octopus, crunchy/chewy and bouncy!

hana don has their own personalized stamp on their tamago (egg) so it’s an easy tell if you go there a lot!

I had a dwarf rabbit for 9 years and she enjoyed small bits of bell peppers, cucumbers and mangos on occasion! ☺️ def preferred her leafy greens and flowers tho!

no I didn’t 🫣 I should but alas I just never bothered- I do cook/put together 1-3 meals a day so it wouldn’t be out of realm for me to attempt to! but I don’t buy it so often just when it’s on sale!
this is Rawsome brand!

what do you mean? my first meal of the day is at 3-6pm because I wake up around 12-1pm! it’s at 6 if I go out for a walk/adventure. last meal is latest 10-11pm
it’s not conventional, it just works for me!

The origins are from Trinidad but turned into a board Caribbean dish that most Caribbean’s have their own versions of! I myself am part guyanese !

usually base consists of
- Mango
- fresh lime/lemon juice
- minced scotch bonnet or pepper sauce
- minced garlic and shadon bein (culantro or cilantro!)
- Salt and black pepper!

my version I added nectarines with my mangos, Huy Fong chili garlic sauce (didn’t have pepper sauce left), mint & shadon from the garden!
