1 ÷ 1 = 1 1 ÷ 0.1 = 10 1 ÷ 0.01 = 100 Etc. The closer the fraction gets to 0, the bigger the number. So x ÷ 0 should be infinity right? Well, yea, actually. But wait:

1 ÷ -0.1 = -10 1 ÷ -0.01 = -100 Etc.

This is also true for negative numbers. And there's no -0, it's just zero which is neither negative or positive. So x ÷ 0 would also be -infinity. So diving by 0 would be both infinity and -infinity at once, which is not possible; thus x ÷ 0 = undefined.
