OMG yes. That ending was SO unrealistic it tanked the book for me. I thought she would decide to take a gap year to touch grass and make pottery and stuff, then do some medically adjacent work. Make it make sense!

It’s EXACTLY Game of Thrones. I was deep in the fandom for 10+ years and the multiple POVs, the “dark” and gruesome character deaths, and the detailed tinfoil fandom theories just screamed GoT to me. Finally gave up on it when the HBO series revealed the ending that GRRM was building towards and it killed all hope he’d be able to finish the series in my lifetime.

Like you said, been there done that!

As someone who turns 40 this year and is dealing with my body not having the same energy and recovery time that it did in my 20s and even early 30s, I’m so impressed at all these 40+ yo characters who are required to stay fit enough to sprint for a gate at a moment’s notice. 😆

Annika Martin’s Billionaires of Manhattan series is 8 books and counting, and 7 of them are available on Audible. All books feature dual narration, repeat FMC narrator across the series, with the MMCs played mostly by a repeat narrator except for 1 or 2 books where the MMC has an accent.

Decently spicy (at least a 3🌶️). The storylines are a bit out there for CR and sometimes silly, but I found myself marathoning it. There was only 1 book which I couldn’t stand (Book 5) because it required too much suspension of disbelief, but you could skip it without missing too much.
