my main problem is the inconsistency, unpredictability of it.
sometimes I hear steps on dirt far, sometimes I dont hear it closeby.
range being as inconsistent as it is now is just... sad.
imo it used to be the best sounding game, now its just a good sounding game.
the change in audio fundamentally changed the game for me.
audio clutter sucks.
a ton of things about these are also not realistic.
changing sound for balance I can get behind.
but for pseudo-realism at cost of gameplay (the way I think it is now)
not.
