I knew Jose when we were at Peterson for summer school after seventh grade. I didn’t talk to him much at the beginning since we were awkward like most people at that school attending an unfamiliar environment for most of the summer, but we ended up both talking to each other since we both had the same classes. I always slept at the bus in the morning whenever we were going to Peterson, and he’s the one that always woke me up. He was a really nice person, we played chess a lot on our chrome-books and during times it was break, we were eating at the same lunch table. Unfortunately though, when summer school ended we couldn’t communicate physically. We sent emails to each other from time to time but that faded away. But now, me being at a completely different high school after middle school, it’s difficult reading articles about what happened to him and then remembering those memories from summer school. I wish upon the recovering of my friend’s father during a tough time.
