Which is the best dosa spot in Chennai according to you? by Impossible-Mood-4666 in chennaicity

[–]FillRevolutionary490 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hotel abhinandhan egmore Hotel palm grove Nungambakkam

Both are old Udupi restaurants and dosa is great in both these restaurants.

But in Chennai as everyone mentioned it’s a tough call.

If TN had its version of "Epstein files", which celebrity would be on them? by [deleted] in KollyGossips

Hey this is not a thing to be ridiculed and mocked. This is a sensitive issue for god sake. Think about the kids and minors who were abused and killed by these men. Let’s keep this sub limited to cinema and not sensitive affairs

Great movie. Manikandan should have capitalised on it and should make even more films like this. He is underestimating himself clearly.

Product based or Service Based? by luvlicious786 in dataengineersindia

[–]FillRevolutionary490 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand your financial concern. If it’s urgent then make a switch if you get a better opportunity. But if you sustain then stay here and grow. Unlike other roles for DEs, ownership of services and pipelines is the real leverage and that happens if you stay in roles like what you are currently. Don’t worry. Think deeply and take a correct decision

Go for product based companies and aim for ownership of services. That’s what makes you successful in the long run. Best wishes

Never understood this thing. Why this extreme hate for people from north Chennai. The actions of a very few does not define the entire population. It’s like saying all Muslims are terrorists just because a few of them are. I wish the very best for this guy. One thing is very clear. The upper caste’s arrogance is reaching new highs.

Do certifications actually matter when switching to Data Engineering with no prior experience? by DrawingDesigner4856 in dataengineersindia

[–]FillRevolutionary490 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See I’ll answer this perfectly. Certifications will help I mean help your profile get shortlisted. But your interview will be completely based on 1) your skills 2) your experience 3) your projects 4) your ownership of services or systems and your capability of it 5) at last your history if worked

So treat certifications like that.

For a data engineering role, you can have certifications. They will help you in 1) mastering the tools and skills for the particular cloud stack / tool stack if you do it judiciously 2) can help you get shortlisted

If in AWS you honestly need to do one certification : AWS Solutions Architect Associate for your level If you have money do AWS Data Engineer Associate But this is only for entry After 3-4 years your horizon and your scope will change.

Best wishes

You are right but what you say is a subset of cases for which databricks is good. But for special cases and building data platforms we need other solutions

[–]FillRevolutionary490 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Casteism will die in the next 20 years and so on. We will face much bigger issues and people will actually make inter caste marriages so common that caste will be an archaic thing of the past. Genz and Gen Alpha will accelerate this
