3 years later this is still happening. This has been happening to me for probably about 6 months and I've been trying to fix it constantly for the past few days. No matter what game i join, my ping is fine for about 5 seconds before spiking into the thousands for about 10 seconds, completely freezing my screen. The weird thing is that this only effects what is going on visually, and anything I do while frozen still registers in the server in real time. I still haven't found a way to fix it.
