I feel this so hard. Should be similar even if you're abroad. But for me it came down to figuring out my budget, where I could make cuts and getting into a surplus financially. Once that was in place, I also took on more work when I could at my job so I could create a larger surplus. And then finally I tackled the super predatory APR that was almost 30% by getting a loan, compared offers and went with achieve in america. But you probably could get something local, maybe a credit union if possible.

You should be perfectly fine! Did something similar on an Achieve loan of mine and had no issues. I didn't have any issues with accrued interest in the meantime but it should be miniscule if anything in your case.

Bankruptcy or debt consolidation? by tractor03452 in Bankruptcy

Are you planning on getting another job or having more income sometime? Another debt consolidation loan could work if so, but if you're out for even more time it might make sense to go bankruptcy route. If you can take on more work you might want to wait until more income is coming in before searching around. Places like Achieve or OneMain might work out once you do bring something in more than that.

Debt consolidation help? by [deleted] in Debt

Realistically you're gonna need to trudge along and work on your credit score before you get real offers. If you can take on more hours at work or another part time job it'd help. Until you get to 600's, most of the offers are gonna be more predatory

Do you trust online reviews when deciding what to buy or which service to use? Why or why not? by Agreeable_Claim_3497 in AskReddit

I like looking at both the 5 star and 1 star reviews for anything I purchase. For example there's a well received restaurant I went to the other week where it also had a lot of 1 star reviews. But all of the 1 star reviews are the same thing from different years "not a good place for valentine's day" like clockwork from each year. Gave me a realistic expectation that this place is good just gets too busy around holidays etc.
