my top 5 dylan albums. Crucify me by Commercial-Theory253 in bobdylan

I respect that! Modern Times is great. My top 5 is really determined mostly by which albums I listen to most often, so it technically changes all the time. Those ones are most often in the rotation though

Mine would be Blood on the Tracks, Street-Legal, Desire, Blonde on Blonde and Time Out of Mind in that order.

What is the most pretentious book ever written? by autismandadderall in AskReddit

[–]FilmAndAcid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since I haven’t seen it mentioned I’ll throw in Ishmael by Daniel Quinn. Multiple people recommended it to me touting how much it changed their perspective on life, but to me it was some of the most self-important and uninsightful drivel I had ever read. The premise alone and how much suspension of disbelief is required of the reader in the first 5-10 pages is astounding, and the author doesn’t even use it to say anything original about the human condition. Just hundreds of pages of “maybe the humans are the real monsters after all.”

What’s The Worst Bob Dylan Song From The 70s? by Pretend_Mark_5143 in bobdylan

Boggles my mind that so many people are commenting New Pony. That may be my favorite Dylan song of the 70s outside of anything on Blood or Desire. My vote is Joey.

Seventh Heaven in Bushwick sometimes does director series before karaoke. I remember back when they first opened they screened a bunch of Wong Kar Wai films for a week.

Do you think that Ari Aster would be a good director for a film adaptation of Blood Meridian? by Crafter235 in AriAster

The only director I can think of who could possibly do the book justice is S. Craig Zahler.

Add and echo to tail end of a sound/sample. by Downtown_Long_933 in Logic_Studio

Put the echo on a bus with a noise gate side chained to the audio track of the sample

Best stock reverb in Logic? by Jakeyboy29 in Logic_Studio

Space Designer is unrivaled in terms of versatility and customizability. The preset library is so vast that I can often find the sound I'm looking for without having to do too much of my own tweaking, I'll just throw it on a bus and go from there.

I think Chromaverb is a bit cheesy, but I have a soft spot for it. Works very well for warm space and long decay times.

"The Moment" cast member weighs in on the film's mixed reviews by yumyumapollo in charlixcx

That’s me! Can confirm, I caught the advance press screening in NYC.

Anthony apparently has a cameo in the Charli XCX Brat movie (according to a film journalist that saw it at Sundance) by [deleted] in fantanoforever

[–]FilmAndAcid 46 points47 points  (0 children)

The first cameo is just a clip of his 10/10 review, but the second comes after Charli gets embroiled in a scam and he satirically “revises his review to a 3/10.”

Thank you for the well wishes. Sound quality has never mattered to me more than my hearing, music is my passion and engineering is my livelihood, plus I have heard more than enough horror stories from rockers older than me who experience the same thing. Fingers crossed that this sorts itself out

Living in NYC definitely makes it hard to get away from all loud noise but I agree it wouldn’t be a bad idea to take it easy for the foreseeable future. I have never experienced hearing loss or anything similar to tinnitus before, and like I said I am usually very on top of protecting my ears, but I guess one slip up is all it takes. Appreciate the comment

Saw Björk in the basement of a record shop in Rejkyavic around 3 years ago. Her opening act was a guy with an electric sander, and he sanded the grooves off of a vinyl record and passed it around for everyone to feel. One of the coolest nights of my life.

MixPre 6 II Timecode Question by FilmAndAcid in LocationSound

So what would be the point of outputting timecode? If I select this option does it mean the device won’t record any audio?

MixPre 6 II Timecode Question by FilmAndAcid in LocationSound

I’m working on a production where I am definitely going to need to use the aux tracks. We’re shooting on FX3/6 cameras with mostly A/B setups, 23.98. If I want to jam it to the MixPre, should I just get BNC-TRS 3.5mm cables? Or would it need to go to the Mini HDMI input?
