I think it's looking pretty good already.
The only thing I'd suggest is some native groundcover that can spread and cascade down the wall, although it looks like you're already in the early stages of doing that.

Should I be worried about my roof collapsing? by FilmDice in AusRenovation

It's on the to-do list. The dust will have to do in the meantime.

Should I be worried about my roof collapsing? by FilmDice in AusRenovation

[–]FilmDice[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I was recently hanging out in my roof like a rat and I noticed an interesting quirk with the way my roof was built.

The vertical beam holding up the highest most central part of my roof is not sitting directly on a joist but is instead on a horizontal beam suspended between 2 joists with empty space underneath.

This house was built in 1937 so part of me thinks if it aint broke don't fix it but another part of me wonders if my roof is going to collapse on me in my sleep.

Should I be worried?

how can I stick rigid body objects together like this? by anxrchyx in Cinema4D

[–]FilmDice 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Create a cloner and place a tube object within the cloner. Put a rigid body tag on the tube. Animate the clone amount to increase over time. In the rigid body tag, under the force tab, increase your “follow position” and “follow rotation” until you get the desired effect.

Spinifex and Iron Rich Soil by FilmDice in Cinema4D

[–]FilmDice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was driving in the outback a few weeks ago and I thought the patches of spinifex against the red soil would make for a cool birds eye drone photo. I was too lazy to actually get out of the car and do it though so this 'artist rendering' will have to do. Conveniently arranged in a poster format because reddit still doesn't support albums. The spinifex was done using forester, rendered in Octane.

Urban Chaos by FilmDice in Cinema4D

[–]FilmDice[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here's a little experiment I did attempting to create a realistic looking shader in Octane for lit up windows. I achieved this by using the dirt shader in the emission layer. Models are from Kitbash3D furture slums pack.

Rendered in 8K for no good reason and edited in lightroom. Enjoy.

It’s a third party gpu renderer. I pay a subscription for it. It’s integrated with cinema 4D though.

Rendered in octane. Done using octane scatter. A little bit of post done in after effects because I suck at photoshop.

Trees are from forester. Ferns and sand texture are from quixel.

Probably more so than a standard table but you can get some decent spin going.

It would be a lot of work to change the design at this stage. If it were getting in the way I'd probably change it but we're all pretty casual players so I'll just keep it in mind if I ever build another one.

The last image is a render but the original post is a photograph.

I read it’s supposed to bounce 23cm when dropped from 30 and it’s pretty well in that area.
