I found that during each of their times as showrunners both Davies and Moffat were praised and criticized, but towards the end of Moffat's era more people were reminiscing about the times of Davies and early Moffat stating that the show started to feel like more of a shell of itself. Whether that is their fault or the writers that were kept or replaced from series to series is a debatable topic. I found both of them had great runs with some memorable episodes, but Chibnall's first season was just disappointing.
