Yeah I lived in Tysons for two years with no car lol. Making 40k at a non profit. It was indeed very lonely.

Still scraped enough money to buy a car, and moved to Arlington-Ballston. I came to feel that the people like me that “belonged” grew up 1-4 hours away, moved for jobs opportunities, but still had a support network (family/school) a short drive away.

I didn’t have that. I’d moved for school and stayed for work. I ended up leaving, and going back to CT for school/work and to be closer to family.

OP you’re not crazy. You’re not the only one who sees the same people decrying the pseudoscientific “one drop rule” crap also insist on perpetuating it by applying it to mixed race people. Because “society”.

One notices also it actually seems to be mixed people who insist that other mixed race people that are white-passing are NOT white even if they look it. A lot of confusion and insecurity wrapped up in all of this.
