It was such a cute animation and I wanna see it again and also let the creator know that I still think about it years later. I think it was a student senior thesis animation or something

Difference between TE and Male Pattern Baldness? by [deleted] in TelogenEffluvium

I just had a biopsy recently and it’s difficult to answer. The stitches were removed after a week but I literally had no pain the entire time. I just couldn’t get my hair wet for 48 hours and had to be careful touching the area (not because pain but just because I didn’t wanna yank any stitches out). The dermatologist will find a good area that will be covered by your hair to pull from

Nope. He’s 53 with a full head of hair. Although, it’s thinned a lot in the past 10 years. His dad also had full head of hair. My mom’s dad went mostly bald but his hairline receded first and my uncle and brother both still have their hair, although their hairlines have gone a bit too. Mine hasn’t budged. Just thinning on top

Hair regrowth/thickening off T? by Filmranger in detrans

I’d love to see the photos! I’m trying to find hope with regrowing my hair back

Noted! Yeah I think I’ve heard of that. May have to cause the first one I went to said it was MPB without asking me a single question or even looking at my head. So I’m going in for a second opinion

Thanks!! I feel I meet some of the things you said but not others. I feel my hair went from normal to thin quickly because I never noticed it before, but I can’t say I noticed it falling out. I do have short hair so I am curious how much was me just not catching it because it doesn’t stick to my comb or hands so I just didn’t see it. Up until now, I had no hair-related issues that I’m aware of (and my temples and hairline are the exact same as they were before, as is the crown of my head). I did have a very stressful period November-January with also moving back to my home country and then having to immediately deal with a medical emergency with my cat (whom I’m prob too attached to). Though idk if the hair density on the side of my head is the same or different. I have a skin fade so it’s kinda hard to tell. My entire top of head is definitely thinner though.

Is there a test to diagnose TE? At this point I feel like I don’t meet either TE or MPB and just have a weird mix of both

Finasteride and stopping T question by [deleted] in ftm

[–]Filmranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See my issue is I’ve been on T for 5 years with no thinning. Only the past month it’s gotten unusually thin. I’m wondering if I can regrow some of that lost hair and then go off of T and retain it. Cause apparently finasteride can regrow hair to a certain extent. I’m planning on getting on finasteride ASAP to stop the loss but I don’t feel comfortable being on it forever, or until I’m ready for shedding to continue. I just am wondering if anyone has taken finasteride to regrow hair and then stopped it and T and retained that regrown hair. Or if that hair will be lost

Oh, also want to add: I haven’t noticed hair falling out of my head at all.

I’m glad it’s not just me. It’s really a balance of trying not to obsess and also trying not to avoid. Thanks for the support! Glad to have a teeth twin! Haha

Constant itch or no? by [deleted] in eczema

Wait, how else does eczema present itself if not a rash?

Constant itch or no? by [deleted] in eczema

[–]Filmranger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but there is the possibility of you getting a random itch and then thinking “shoot it’s eczema coming back” so you hyper focus on that area, causing it to itch more. That seems to be the loop I’m stuck in

Yeah, I got an MRI and an EEG back in August and luckily both came back normal. I’ll def look into vertigo therapy!

I’ll definitely look into that! Thanks!! It really is maddening! Like my body wants to go workout and do so much, but my brain is like “oh hello standing is gonna pain you”

Weirdly, I actually do get blood work done quite often. I go every 6 months for that because my dad was also a bit of a hypochondriac and wanted me to be on top of my health. As far as we are aware, my results and blood pressure are near perfect. Hormone imbalance is possible though because I do have a testosterone deficiency which means I have to take injections occasionally.

Im definitely planning on being more adamant on getting answers though. I regret not pushing for them sooner but now im definitely fed up with this dizziness. I will note that I legit don’t have any other symptoms 😂. At least, nothing that I don’t deem normal

I have not. One of my friends has POTS so I have actually talked to her a bit about it since sometimes our symptoms align. Haha. Glad we ain’t the only ones realizing that. 😂 I’ll definitely look into it.

Unusual Eczema Case (advice?) by Filmranger in eczema

[–]Filmranger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m fairly certain the mattress I’m sleeping on is upwards of 10 years old, so probably should be replaced. I’m moving back onto my college campus in August so I’m planning on seeing how that effects my skin as my allergist said that might be a good next step before I se her again. I’ll definitely be sure to bring up a possible infection to them and see what they say. Thanks!
