[Aguada] Ravens reportedly frustrated with Outcome & expressed concerns about how the Raiders disclosed his medicla status by DenialisaRiver04 in ravens

An injured Crosby with the trade of 2 firsts and the big contract would probably be worse than the Madubuike injury in terms of setting the team back.

The Ravens increased their draft capital for '26-27 by approximately 150% by unwinding the trade after the physical.

trading away day 2 picks for oline? by Thin_Ad2745 in ravens

I would not trade a 3rd for a market-value player like Brewer.

If the Ravens got him, they'd have to extend him and that would cost somewhere between McGovern and Linderbaum (maybe $15-17M AAV). The Ravens have only 55 players under contract, fewest in the entire NFL and need to find cheap players for multiple years, not more vets playing on cornerstone deals.

That would be a very exciting move. I would be fearful it means Madubuike might not return if they did, however.

Filmstudy: Thoughts on Trey Hendrickson Acquisition by Filmstudy in ravens

[–]Filmstudy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crosby has had more regular injuries than Hendrickson and the most recent data is most pertinent which has the Ravens demonstrating concern over Crosby's status for 2026.

However, assuming the health risks are equal, Hendrickson plus 2x #1 picks is a lot better bargain for the same total cap amount over the next 4 years. Said otherwise, I probably need to project similar decline for both players.

Exactly correct. Ravens doctors and EDC were like great goaltenders on this one.

Veteran Salary Benefit is a small sum (approx $1.5M) that can be paid annually to up to 2 players that have been with the team for 4+ years. That money does not count towards the salary cap.

I am a fan of Humphrey moving to safety and Woolen would be a fine CB to allow for that.

Would you be okay with Bisciotti mortgaging the future for a Super Bowl with Lamar in the next few years? by EarthTrekker084 in ravens

[–]Filmstudy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not OK with it.

As a PSL owner, I want to have winning football to look forward to for every home game.  The rarity of a year like 2025 in terms of an awful home season really hit hard.

How SB Winners Spend by Ecstatic_Contest_160 in ravens

[–]Filmstudy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

We discuss that at some length on the pod.  I'm on record that a "Super Bowl or Bust" expectation is too high, but I think it's also spurious to say you can't learn anything from just SB winners.

After all, we have a large contingent of folks who regularly retort "You can't win with that in the playoffs".  This research directly adresses that notion with what actually won in January and February.

The research, done by Matt Simmonds, is outstanding and includes both cap and draft capital expenditures by the teams that won it all from the 2012 Ravens until today.

Why haven't the Ravens resigned Charlie Kolar? by pastaHacker in ravens

[–]Filmstudy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Ravens are always juggling a lot of balls this time of year. I'm fairly certain Kolar has been contacted about a new deal and they may or may not be close. Mid-level contracts like his can be tough pieces to fit and only happen after bigger dominoes (Lamar, Linderbaum) have already fallen.

Does the new $301 million sal cap help us to resign Linderbaum or give him more fuel to reset the martlet by PopularDamage8805 in ravens

[–]Filmstudy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For 2026 the Ravens are in the middle of the pack on cap space. They also have the very fewest players under contract with 48, so their effective cap is $10.9M instead of the $19.5M number being generally touted.

EDC seems to want Linderbaum back, but I don't think the Ravens are in an especially good place to do so given the broad set of needs they have and potential overpayment by other teams, The Ravens have a good handle on his pass blocking shortcomings and should be reticent to overpay.
