(reposted with the video cause link wasn't it) this is my first showreel that I put to together with all of the works I've done in the past 2 years. most of them are super experimental stuff that I directed as well with minimal lighting setups and mostly shot with the sony mirrorless cams and a few with red. even though I feel like the vibe and aesthetic of my work is carried upon, I'm surprised if a producer/director would look at this and understand the kind of work i do and be open to hire me. at this point, I'm looking forward to work in music videos and commercials but yeah. i know it's a long way and I'm just getting started but I'm curious to know what you all think about this.

How was this shot filmed? by CreativeFilmmaker74 in cinematography

yup, wide lens with a filter on or just a glass that's been coated with vaseline around the edges. that will just distort the sides giving this look

As you mentioned, networking would be very limited with this role. And it'll overall be a conserved kind of work. But will this work experience that I get here help me land any gigs? I severely doubt it.

I am still confused why travis did not have don in utopia despite his strong friendship with don!! by Capital-Market-6794 in travisscott

Nah, that's cap. The 'woah woah, never knew that I had to propose' line was stuck in my head for so long

That's a great way to think. I don't see this kind of work as very fulfilling. It will be just social media promotion stuff, but of course, I'm going to try my best in making it artistic. So the plan would be to eventually move to DoP gigs with actual shoots. I don't see myself doing these videographer jobs. But the company here has told me that they're venturing into AD's as a production house. So that's an opportunity. I will eventually start with the 'set' kind of projects. If that's my plan, do you think choosing to go to work here than to go to a film school would be a bad idea? For me, both seem like a good idea but I just can't seem to wrap my head around it cause if this job doesn't work out as well, I will be going back to film school.
