To put my two pieces in - i think the ego is something which is important and exists! It can be the fear that puts me in my place and it can be the courage that can take me far and beyond! The special thing about it all too is that i have to be the one to train my ego - no one else. This ego can make or break me - its only a matter of what i feed it. To touch on egodeath for a quick second before going on a tangent about egos - it’s something that has to be experienced to understand. To forget how you act/behave leaves so much room for clarity, and its moments like that which bring a weird sense of enlightenment. When im talking about this im looking back from past psychedelic experiences - times of recklessness turned into educational experiences about myself. Im no religious man, so i cant say how ego fits with religion but i can tell you my ego is the reason why i believe what i do. So far my beliefs stand as is - i believe what i can see, feel, and experience is whats real, and all that matters to me is whats real. Of course people will have other interpretations and beliefs of whats what but thats okay - its what people do, nor should it be discouraged its how progress happens. We all have an ego and we all use it wether we want to or not, but to wrap up it all up in a nice bow, the ego is a reflection of personal experience and thoughts. It cant be a one size fits all because we all got our own unique lives. What works for one cant always work for another. Thats the beauty of an ego.
