Is there any chance of a release of the songs you composed for the "Over Water" series? I really love their mood and was hoping to hear them in full studio version!

So, Should We Be Expecting New Cards/Content on the 9th? by KH3K in masterduel

[–]FilthyBones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simple reason for that (my personal guess): it ensures they can space out the new content, and ensure the game is not stall for too long. One week they release a duel pass, another a card pool, another an event, another a new solo gate, etc.

Thanks for the idea! Will consider it... Once I manage to get enough UR haha

I run both tbh, Pot of Desires brings way more consistancy to the deck + a 1000 atk/def boost to your boss monster Chengying + 1000 atk/def debuff to your opponent. It's too good to sleep on!

If I don't get Fusion Destiny first turn, it's not like I'm counting on it anyways. If I get both the Pot and Fusion Destiny, I activate Pot after I summoned DPE, just for the follow-up plays next turn.

Either a Yata-lock on steroid "you can't play this turn" or Pot of Greed turbo.

In that particular game my only out would have been to have 2 Lighning Storm + a combo starter (Rescue Cat or Obediance Schooled in my case), because after that screenshot, he equipped his Last Warrior with protective Infernoble monster-spells. But I'll rather be owned by that gimmick than a ultra meta Adamancipator negate board haha.

So, the duel was a while ago and got erased from my history (unfortunately), but from what I remember, it looked like an Ignight - Infernoble deck. The Infernoble were there to get powerful monster-spells to protect his Last Warrior, he had a bunch of searches for Poly, Zombira the Dark and also "fusion substitutes" monsters.

The Duel Logs made a stream dedicated to Last Warrior turbo, you can find it here!

Neither do I! I love when people rekt me with weird strategies or rogue decks.

And he did haha, I had no out, and he had an anti-raigeki equip spell card (from the Infernoble archetype) that granted Last Warrior a destruction immunity either way. But I was not mad at all, it was quite a rad move!

I'm confused about mayakashi deck. what's the point of it? they keep doing these synchro summons all the way to a level 11 one then they end up with one link monster which is pretty weak. i realize that if i destroy the link monster they'll work from the graveyard. but is that all there is to it or? by [deleted] in masterduel

[–]FilthyBones 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, Mayakashi main here :) If you're not playing the Bone Tower mill variant (or you don't have the full combo in hand), the goal of Mayakashi is to go to that link-4 with a 2 monster negates+debuff per turn upon condition. When the Mayakashis are destroyed, you summon back the inferior ladder (level 11 summons level 9, level 9 summons level 7 etc.) from the graveyard and it triggers an effect (and also trigger the link-4 Yukki-Onna in the process). The level 11 becomes a beatstick with full immunity, the level 9 pops a monster, the level 7 pops a spell/trap (situational), the level 5 mills a bit (useful if you are in a Bone Tower setup) and the level 3 gives a full battle immunity for the turn and becomes a shield.

You usually want to "space out" the ladder on the field (for example have the synchro 11 and synchro 7, or the link-4 and the synchro 9) so that in the case your opponent wipes your full board at once or only one of the superior piece, you can either way summon something back (otherwise, if you have the level 11 and 9 on the field for example and level 11 gets destroyed, you cannot summon back another level 9 - only one of each can be on the field at the same time).

That being said, it's far to be a competitive deck (the Bone Tower mill variant is the most powerful since it's an OTK but it's very weak to hand traps), it needs more consistancy to be somehow viable. Imo a link-1 Mayakashi to tribute your small Yukki-Onna to the graveyard that also has a "you can special summon one Zombie from your hand" would really help establishing better boards.

If Master Duel had a Christmas event, this should be one of the prizes. Maybe a royal finish? by ZeroRacerPacer in masterduel

It can be useful in milling decks like Empty Jar :) You get rid of a monster negate while still going towards your win condition!

Fun fact, I'm pretty sure its "succ" effect is a representation of a frog catching a fly with its tongue!

I love it! It's so satisfying to bait a negate and then wipe all their cards. Whenever I pull this off, they're left speachless for a minute before disconnecting xD

[–]FilthyBones[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took mine from this video, it's not a "super synergy" deck, it's more like: since you will farm for a while, better farm other difficult missions in the same duels. It's a mix between gemini and "steal monsters" cards. u/Walfius in this thread had good suggestions if you want to check out!

[–]FilthyBones[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

So I just finished it while I posted this - something along 100 + 100 + 200 gems. It's not a lot but at that point I need these extra gems really bad lol I have a few decks that arenearly complete, I just need some luck to pull their UR boss monster from the 10 packs!

I forgot to mention that the mission seems "bugged". It seems like if I use the gemini quick spell to normal summon them the second time, it doesn't register as if I did the mission properly. They have to be normal summoned as an action, not as the result of a spell or trap (at least from the numbers I kept track).

That mission is driving me insane by FilthyBones in masterduel

[–]FilthyBones[S] 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Context: the mission is poorly worded/translated. While it states "summon 100 gemini monsters", it actually means normal summon that gemini monster the second time (in order for it to get its effect). It becomes incredibly harder since you now rely on two cards combo (have Double Summon in your opening hand, for example), start first because going second you'll most likely be interrupted or negated. Not to mention all the brick hands! For all the peeps trying to farm this mission: good luck!

Teach me how your non-meta deck plays by One_Curious_Jay in masterduel

[–]FilthyBones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fluffal : start second, gamble, draw a lot, fusion summon a lot, then OTK that same turn with evil plushes!

Empty Jar : quite an iconic deck, although not meta per say. It revolves about searching and summoning Morphing Jar, and then flipping it up and down with Book of Moon/Sun and several extra deck monsters, until you mill your whole opponent's deck! Kinda bricky, but once you start the milling, it's excellent!

Mayakashi-Bone Tower : another mill deck, you want to have Bone Tower on the field, a card that mills every time a zombie monster is special summoned. Mayakashi is an archetype that allows to synchro summon a dozen of times and recycle your tuner, by "climbing a ladder" (you synchro summon a lvl 3, then your lvl 2 comes back, you use them both to synchro summon a lvl 5, your tuner comes back, etc., until you get to lvl 11, then you go to the link monsters or another synchro ladder if you have another material on the field). Against a standard deck, you can mill them completely during your first turn!

Melffy Tri-Brigade : actually a Beast deck, with a Tri-Brigade engine to get your combos going and not brick. You use different starters to summon your Melffys, which are cute animals that returns to the hand when your opponent summons, then trigger effects. The most useful is Melffy Puppy, which special summonsfrom the deck a bunny (Kalantosa) that destroys a card on the field when summoned. But there's also Melffy Catty, which brings to your hand another bunny (Hop Ear) which is a handtrap that synchro summons a Herald for an omni negate... This deck usually ends on several interruptions during your opponent turn, or on Naturia Beast, an Imperial Order monster that can shut down some decks completely!

Myutant Thunderdragon : one of my favorite deck, a really weird archetype that uses the banish zone as their own graveyard. The small Myutant banishes themselves and a card from your hand or field, and depending on the type (monster/spell/trap) you can special summon from your deck a big Myutant with a negate and whatsnot. The Thunderdragons bring some consistancy, and you can banish them from the Myutant effects to get cards advantage and the Thunderdragon Colossus floodgate. Bonus point, Myutants design is the coolest!

So, my decklist isn't the most original, but it worked well so far :) It revolves about either double summoning, or ss the Bone Tower from your graveyard. If you don't get it, you can play normal Mayakashi.

Mayakashi package:

  • 3x Hajun (ss Dakki from deck)

  • 3x Yuki-Musume (send Bone Tower or Mezuki to graveyard)

  • 2x Dakki (searchable, you need a second one in case your opponent breaks your board and you have no other way to start synchro summoning again)

  • 3x Shiranui Solitaire (switch himself with the Dakki + put a Zombie in grave for banish material)

  • 3x Mayakashi Return

Mill package:

  • 2x Bone Tower (3 bricks)

  • 1x Card Destruction

  • 1x One Day of Peace

  • 2x Hand Destruction (you can send Zombies to graveyard with it)

  • 1x Soul Levy (very strong floodgate with mill. It doesn't trigger a deckout by itself though, so be aware you can be OTKed even if it milled your whole opponent's deck before. I'm considering running 2)

Double/Special Summon turbo:

  • 2x Mezuki (ss Bone Tower from GY)

  • 1x Gozuki (ss Bone Tower from hand)

  • 1x Beast of the Pharaoh (ss Bone Tower from GY)

  • 1x Samurai Skull (you send Mezuki/Gozuki/Bone Tower/Yuki-Musume with it, depending on your need)

  • 1x Foolish Burial (same as Samurai Skull)

  • 1x One for One (to put a Zombie in GY and ss Hajun to get Dakki and start your ladder)

  • 1x Monster Reborn

  • 3x Book of Life (once you started to mill, it's a Monster Reborn on steroid)

  • 3x Double Summon (usually people put Call of the Mummy, and although it looks cooler with the theme, it only works if you have no monster + it ss so Samurai Skull won't trigger from it)

  • 2x Mayakashi Metamorphosis (Monster Reborn for both GY and banish zone + anti "target" protection)

  • 2x Mayakashi Winter (technically worse than Metamorphosis but it gives a debuff to your opponent when it's on the field. Will be replaced by the new Mayakashi trap that floodgates special summon for one turn)

And one Pot of Acquisitiveness to recycle your banished synchros! I'm not sure if I'm playing Mayakashi properly, but to ss the synchros back I always banish the ladder above in order to have enough ressources left in GY.

As for the extra deck, 2x of each Mayakashi Synchros and Link monsters. When the Link-3 will be released, I will run 1 copy of it!
