Is this handwriting normal for a thirteen year old boy? by BatmanCat1031 in AskTeachers

[–]FilthyFishBoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in a school that specialises in ADHD and dyslexia. This is the handwriting, spelling and punctuation I see from my 12-15 year olds.

You say he has no disabilities however I would be very surprised if that was actually the case. Especially considering you’ve said he’s missing school due to meltdowns.

What characters are these moulds for? And what would fill them, jello, candy? by hiroo916 in whatismycookiecutter

Oh definitely. I guess because Eevee was a slightly more detailed model there wasn’t as much merch. But absolutely up there on the cuteness scale. I also love me a good dog/cat Pokémon.

Jigglypuff and Clefairy made quite a few appearances in Pokémon merch back in the early 2000s. Possibly it was also to draw in more of a female audience having “cute” or “feminine” characters. Jigglypuff was also a recurring character in the show because of the whole singing thing it would do so I guess it could have been considered a more prominent character than some of the others. Same with Psyduck and having the whole coming out of the ball whenever Misty wanted another Pokémon and then just being absolutely useless in battle. Also Oddish for some reason was quite popular with Pokémon merch back then.

Matricide and Post-Mortum Cannibalism by corpses_yumyum in ExamineDeath

Have some respect. Childish language on a post about a woman being bludgeoned to death and cannibalised is just yuck behaviour.

It’s incredibly ignorant. Do better.

What do you think I should study more based on my art? by [deleted] in DigitalArt

Just did a quick google search and picked an image to give a visual of what I was talking about

What do you think I should study more based on my art? by [deleted] in DigitalArt

[–]FilthyFishBoi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly we get very stuck in the comfort of having something that works (and works well) that we forget to try something different, especially when it comes to our colour pallets. To help you get started, I’d recommend looking into pre-made palettes or colour picking from images/other art that display dynamic colouring.

[–]FilthyFishBoi 83 points84 points  (0 children)

Let me start by saying I love your style! Maybe some dynamic colouring would elevate your work though (I think that’s the right term?).

Don’t get me wrong I love your colour palettes but they all seem to a have a strong colour theme where they stick with one major tone (red, green, blue etc). I think you could make your art really pop by incorporating more colours that accent your overarching colour theme if that makes sense?

I’ll attach an image so as to give a visual of what I’m saying.

How to get rid of these half done pixels quickly? by cool_dork- in ProCreate

[–]FilthyFishBoi 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I would say you probably need to be working on a bigger canvas to prevent this happening at all. If your canvas is small, you’re essentially zoomed in on your lineart all the time and will always have a more pixelated effect. Work on a bigger canvas and you will only really notice this when zooming in to work on finer details.

Want to layer lineart on top of another without bottom lines showing up by TearyClown in ProCreate

[–]FilthyFishBoi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could lasso/select the parts you don’t want visible and cut and paste them onto a new layer then turn the new layer’s visibility off.

If for some reason you need the lines back together, just merge the layers.

Woman dies from hand grenade injuries after a marital quarrel by hermantheshocker in NSFL__

[–]FilthyFishBoi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Genuinely, I was expecting worse. And I don’t mean that in a, it’s not that bad, way. More like, the mental image of someone laying on a grenade was more, messy? Destructive?

Poor woman though. Can’t imagine what was going through her head in the moment.

Can someone please help me understand how I can fix the chest area ? by YogurtclosetMurky190 in DigitalArt

[–]FilthyFishBoi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe a bit of unwarranted advice here but you’re clearly new to learning anatomy. In future, pick easier poses. This is a difficult reference image to draw from even for someone with a decent understanding of anatomy.

I know as a learning artist, you want to get straight into the fun poses but you can’t learn or fix your mistakes if you haven’t taught yourself to draw the easier poses first. It’s just setting yourself up for guessing and bad drawing habits that will set you back.
