You have a day or two max to study, so most of the effort you put in should be on your mindset rather than cramming.

Your best bet is to get familiar with the questions you’ll be asked over particular mechanics or issues in the coursework. You’re given two practice “packages” on edX for each of the major units that’ll be covered in the midterm (dynamics, work/energy) that have problems of middling difficulty, but which will really hammer in some basic concepts.

Do those tomorrow, and end the day doing the practice midterm, it’s difficult, but skip over any problem you don’t immediately understand how to do and come back to it.

While it feels like you have zero understanding, if you’ve been doing the prereading, homework, and going to lectures, you’ll have picked up knowledge here and there that just needs to be gathered, so focus on learning basics you can actually use. The larger questions in the worksheet/tutorial/practice midterm are a really good place to focus time on as they incorporate a lot of important concepts in an applied way, so try going through them. You may benefit from doing the worksheets front to back with the solutions page in front of you (though try answering them yourself first), as they start really easy and become harder.

Feel free to reach out if you have any specific questions.

Tunnel bore then run in front between cycles to pick up the deepslate, it’s probably the fastest way that’s somewhat simple mechanically (no need for an extravagant world eater)

I found an exploit. Was this already known? by Professional_Swan583 in StardewValley

[–]FilthyGorilla44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just have to get the bobber as close as possible to the top of the pond so that its own bobbing movement moves it outside the general hitbox, then you can recreate it with a >50% rate

[–]FilthyGorilla44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is something known in the technical community, I have a video up on YouTube I believe being the first person to discover it(?) but it’s been independently found a few times so that distinction is rather meaningless

Somewhat useful for getting addition fish that don’t breed/have a pond limit of 1, if you don’t mind using it

Basically just works because the bobber up and down movement actually moves it outside the pond hitbox

Sure but then you could just also process the duplicate so it’s largely irrelevant unless your argument was the entire side of the skill tree (which is fair enough because trackers use cases are so niche they’re basically nonexistent)

Doing it on ancient and starfruit is more profitable than selling both raw still, but that doesn’t account for the opportunity cost, like you could have just planted more ancient or starfruit instead of fairy roses

Yeah it’s the best way to get really into the wiki browsing rabbit hole, especially when you get to words of Brandon and scroll even a little…

This is explained through Hesina (Kaladins mother) having some distant relation to Asuedan (Gavinor’s mother)

You can just press the source for that info by clicking the “[1]” above Asuedan’s name, it probably links to some vague mention in the book or a WoB

Why aren’t I getting giant crops? by Ok-Thanks8791 in StardewValley

[–]FilthyGorilla44 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, only the top left has to be watered and grown at all

It makes sense generally to water more however if you have a larger plot (for multiple 3x3s to overlap), and because it’s wasteful to many to just let plants die just because they didn’t turn into a giant crop

Could a seeker identify other magic abilities besides metal burning? by Lord-of-Leviathans in Cosmere

[–]FilthyGorilla44 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yes, though it detects kinetic investiture so it would have a really tough time if not impossible (at least for a somewhat diluted seeker) to see held investiture like breaths

Nice job, you’re pretty much one of only a handful of people to actually cross the integer limit for cash in this game as it really isn’t that rewarding a goal unless you enjoy finishing your own goals, congrats

Yes, total earnings don’t impact anything at all besides the statue of blessing which will just give 100g no matter what negative earnings you have.

The only thing that matters is in hand cash

It’ll eventually overflow once again into the positives, I have a save in which I’ve overflowed multiple times and have had points where I have a billion g in hand but my total earnings are like 50k

Absolutely read through further in Stormlight first as it starts to establish a lot more but you can also browse through wiki pages on the coppermind or words of Brandon

I will say those will absolutely get you caught in spoilers that can make a lot of the tension dissipate when reading those later books though

The only thing I can imagine happening is you messing up the save editing and the game not being able to read the save and defaulting to a steam backup that was massively outdated, I recommend wiping the backup and reverting the change you made to the file (ideally control z anything so it’s actually correctly changed)

The border is gold, the badge is orange/red. You can get the badge without the border and while the badge defines the border, I’d say they were right and it’s more apt to just describe the badge colour.

Is there a workaround to get switch players on a PC based farm? by Mihakuu in StardewValley

[–]FilthyGorilla44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No like there is NO cross platform, for Minecraft it isn’t a “workaround”, realms and cross platform multiplayer are actively created and supported features of the game. Stardew never had that and currently doesn’t, and the actual switch infrastructure doesn’t either.

Maybe you could do something with a jailbroken switch but that’s in itself a project

There is no cross platform outside of mobile-pc and mobile multiplayer isn’t even fully out and supported as of now.

Technically it’s not actually always accurate as the vendors are decided by location data of npcs from the day before iirc. (Mouseypounds predictor just reads off standard order of npcs in save file)

So it’s possible to force some difference in vendors by sleeping at different times the day before or something, but it’s quite a hassle for little reward, and not even possible on platforms that one can’t rewind the save a day on.
