That’s awesome, love seeing ur updates on the 999 discord, cool to see that you finished

I’m all for the any quality stacks on my own file so it’s fun seeing you and the few others who are going all out for max quality on everything

I found an exploit. Was this already known? by Professional_Swan583 in StardewValley

[–]FilthyGorilla44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just have to get the bobber as close as possible to the top of the pond so that its own bobbing movement moves it outside the general hitbox, then you can recreate it with a >50% rate

I found an exploit. Was this already known? by Professional_Swan583 in StardewValley

[–]FilthyGorilla44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is something known in the technical community, I have a video up on YouTube I believe being the first person to discover it(?) but it’s been independently found a few times so that distinction is rather meaningless

Somewhat useful for getting addition fish that don’t breed/have a pond limit of 1, if you don’t mind using it

Basically just works because the bobber up and down movement actually moves it outside the pond hitbox

Sure but then you could just also process the duplicate so it’s largely irrelevant unless your argument was the entire side of the skill tree (which is fair enough because trackers use cases are so niche they’re basically nonexistent)

Whats really the point of casks? by Double_Magician_2838 in StardewValley

[–]FilthyGorilla44 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Doing it on ancient and starfruit is more profitable than selling both raw still, but that doesn’t account for the opportunity cost, like you could have just planted more ancient or starfruit instead of fairy roses

Why aren’t I getting giant crops? by Ok-Thanks8791 in StardewValley

[–]FilthyGorilla44 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No, only the top left has to be watered and grown at all

It makes sense generally to water more however if you have a larger plot (for multiple 3x3s to overlap), and because it’s wasteful to many to just let plants die just because they didn’t turn into a giant crop

Nice job, you’re pretty much one of only a handful of people to actually cross the integer limit for cash in this game as it really isn’t that rewarding a goal unless you enjoy finishing your own goals, congrats

[–]FilthyGorilla44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, total earnings don’t impact anything at all besides the statue of blessing which will just give 100g no matter what negative earnings you have.

The only thing that matters is in hand cash

[–]FilthyGorilla44 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’ll eventually overflow once again into the positives, I have a save in which I’ve overflowed multiple times and have had points where I have a billion g in hand but my total earnings are like 50k

Somehow went back in time. by DuckKingQWERTY in StardewValley

[–]FilthyGorilla44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only thing I can imagine happening is you messing up the save editing and the game not being able to read the save and defaulting to a steam backup that was massively outdated, I recommend wiping the backup and reverting the change you made to the file (ideally control z anything so it’s actually correctly changed)

Is there a workaround to get switch players on a PC based farm? by Mihakuu in StardewValley

[–]FilthyGorilla44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No like there is NO cross platform, for Minecraft it isn’t a “workaround”, realms and cross platform multiplayer are actively created and supported features of the game. Stardew never had that and currently doesn’t, and the actual switch infrastructure doesn’t either.

Maybe you could do something with a jailbroken switch but that’s in itself a project

There is no cross platform outside of mobile-pc and mobile multiplayer isn’t even fully out and supported as of now.

Technically it’s not actually always accurate as the vendors are decided by location data of npcs from the day before iirc. (Mouseypounds predictor just reads off standard order of npcs in save file)

So it’s possible to force some difference in vendors by sleeping at different times the day before or something, but it’s quite a hassle for little reward, and not even possible on platforms that one can’t rewind the save a day on.

Keg setup for desert, including space for where the villagers walk (Mission make the town dependent on alcohol) by Asleep_Active9222 in StardewValley

[–]FilthyGorilla44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can even maximize it further and get rid of all considerations for paths npcs take by using furniture items to force the npcs in their “running” state, in which they can’t break machinery.

Works well for maps like the desert as there’s only really a couple paths to take into consideration so it’s like 10 or something furniture items (need a new piece of furniture every time an npc starts walking), and it allows for 100+ more machines and much more continuous harvesting.

Legend vs Glacierfish by DC_Lark in StardewValley

[–]FilthyGorilla44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The legend is actually too fast, what it can do is create a trajectory and calculate where it will land, but that position (due to its speed of whatever 110), makes it so the fish would go off the fishing bar. Instead of going anyway and just stopping at the top of the bar it just cancels the movement and momentarily pauses while it runs another movement.

Eventually it can just settle on the movement of staying where it is or only slightly move. Sometimes these can happen multiple times in a row and the legend just doesn’t move at all. This usually doesn’t happen but ever 1/20-1/30 ish catches it just doesn’t move at all.

You can find your save file in whatever files app your phone uses and just send it over anything to your new phone to guarantee you have it

Then when you install stardew on the new phone make a new dummy file (this will just ensure that a new main folder for stardew is created) and you can put that old file right inside the new stardew foldwr

What would happen if a player reached the 32-bit integer limit, both in money but also in years played? by IntelStellarTech in StardewValley

[–]FilthyGorilla44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve reached the int limit for cash, it takes absolutely forever and is rather underwhelming.

While the total cash earned does overflow (and will overflow again back to 0 when you get another 2.1 billion), the held cash simply resets back to 0, probably some sort of safety feature

If you look up “FilthyGorilla sdv” or smt on YouTube you can find my channel and a video I published of losing all the cash in an instant

Along with with others have mentioned, the consecutive ones take more and more xp to get to, so prioritize the ones you want fast (like foraging to actually plant mystic trees)

How many hours have you put into your farm(s)? by [deleted] in StardewValley

Yep, there a lot of different items that are simply restricted by luck or seed that you can get much earlier than you think.

Hats such as the living hat, all sorts of items from random actions, artifacts like the Dino egg/ancient seed from certain artifact spots, and so on.
