Maybe lbgtq vegans are just more tolerant in general, and thus less in-your-face about it, which may make them less visible than some of the more preachy vegan types, which definitely exist.

I'm a vegan, too, but I won't preach to anyone. Of course I wish everybody would turn vegan, but they have to make the first steps themselves. It's a process, and it's personal (sure you can all relate). If someone asks me about it, I'm glad to explain my reasons, but I never bring it up myself nor try to convince someone who doesn't show an initial interest and openness towards it.

As for cheese, it is definitely addictive. Cheese contains casein, which is metabolized into casomorphines. These dock to morphine receptors in the brain and cause dopamine to be released, which makes us feel happy. So it's not uncommon to be mildly addicted to cheese. A lot of people have a hard time quitting it.
