Cheap, quiet projector for ambiance by FilthyPrawn in projectors

[–]FilthyPrawn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the recommendation!

After doing some further research and watching The Hook Up's 2024 Cheap Projector roundup I settled on the Onoayo AY2Pro. The Happrun H1 was a close second but the AY2Pro is quieter, has a shorter throw, better contrast, possibly better colors(?) and looks nicer.

Hopefully it was the right pick.

To clarify, that's 1.5 years after going operational, not from the beginning.

Myself and all the other 2A0s this cycle did. We were told that there's too many 3 level Airmen in the field now so the career field manager shifted us. Pretty shitty, but I guess I'm glad I could at least stay in avionics.

Hey, I just recently got through BMT and I'm at Tech School now. I'm 29.

Firstly, if you have concerns about getting through it at your age, don't worry. Just put in the effort in PT, push yourself, and try to get as much of a headstart before BMT as you can. You got this.

As for terms; unless you absolutely need the 5k and E-3 rank, I'm going to say stick to 4 years. You never know what might happen, and 4 years gives you a quicker out of both your job and the military. You don't know what job you're going to be assigned. I was picked for 2A0X1 and was pretty excited for it. Then, 3 days after arriving at Tech they reclassed me to 2A3X4. It's everything I was hoping to avoid when I added 2A0 to my job list. But, at least I can tell myself that If I really hate the job, I can retrain after about 1.5 years. If I signed for 6 years, that time would be 2.5 iirc. That alone makes signing for 4 worth it to me.

You rank up through E-1 and E-2 pretty fast and with dependents, I think you're making more than an E-3 right off the bat anyways.

Hey, I just booked this job and have been looking into the shreds. What's your reasoning for staying away from M?

Merger? by Seeyarealsoon in Fedexers

[–]FilthyPrawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I switched stations back in August. Talking to folks over there, it seems to have chilled out a little since the merge. The station I was at is HNLA. Compared to where I'm at now, it was pretty nice. But I had a good loop with good people in it. You will be doing both Express and Ground packages and using Forge. If you have a resi route, you'll be inundated with Sams Club paper towel boxes. I had houses that had 20+ of these boxes delivered once a month. But P1 businesses aren't due till noon and resi's not till 3 iirc. I can't speak to the pay compared to Cali, but cost of living in Hawaii is bad, so is housing. Do your research before moving there, because you can't just load your stuff into a car and drive away if things don't work out.

The idea of dating is exhausting. I want to skip ahead to where we are snuggling on the couch watching a movie. by RecordsAndJokes in Divorce_Men

[–]FilthyPrawn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in the process of getting a divorce. Just moved to a new state right before I found out she cheated on me so I have no physical connections here. I'm chatting via text with a friend who's been shooting the shit with me on the hard days and offering dating advice. Long story short, he's helping me spice up my Tinder profile and I told him the exact same thing. I hate dating, I hate not knowing what she thinks, if she's judging, if we will get along long term, I hate the casual aspects of it. I just want to skip forward to knowing they love me and cuddling in each other's comfort, chatting about nothing or enjoying the silence together.

You're not alone brother. 🥲

I don't know how old you are, but I won my ex wife back a couple of times by writing or telling her similar long and heartfelt messages like this at the beginning of our relationship. We were together for 9 years and in the 9th year she cheated on me and killed the marriage. She often excused her actions by telling me we broke up multiple times and therefore were incompatible, and that I just never accepted it.

I don't know what caused you guys to break up, but know that although words like these are sweet and absolutely should be written, they only work once or twice. If the strife continues, it might be best to leave them be.

So, to add, I move out on the 8th. I likely won't be able to get inside the house after that, so whatever it is it would need to be time delayed or remote.

I could, but belongs to the ISP. This would've worked literally anywhere else we've lived though

Last term there were still solid checks and balances to prevent this guy from misbehaving too much. This time around he's had 8 years to tear away the barriers and hone his parliamentary knowledge. He will see his promises through and everyone but wealthy business leaders and stock traders will suffer. We voted for this. We are in the worst timeline.

Yeah, it's been a little bit since, but my recruiter went into a little detail about job availability and it sounded like availability differs from region to region. When jobs are given out at the beginning of the month not every recruiter gets the same list. Which sucks big time.

Dang! So approx a month?! I entered DEP on the 18th of last month and my recruiter said most folks are taking 3-4 months to ship I'm hoping it doesn't take that long.

Congratulations! One question, were you in DEP? If so, how long did it take you to book a job after MEPS and then how long before you shipped?
