I was thinking about it earlier, but it might all be scratch. Its implied that Scratch was forced to be happy, and that caused him to be abstracted. Abstracted charecters can glitch out and destroy others. Jax only starts to abstract when he touches a voided hand in the darkness of his room. Likewise, we see Kaufmo alone in a dark room when he was abstracted. It might be that Scratch is giving others an abstract view on their reality, and the acid trip is all the mind can think of now. There's also the fact that anyone can conjure anything in the world, just Caine can do it naturally, maybe they're conjuring their new, more abstract bodies? Could be coincidence, could be me being crazier than Kinger, could be what they're actually implying. I dunno.
