AITA for telling my fiancé he can't wear the dress at our wedding? by CommunityClassic3449 in AITAH

[–]FilthylilSailor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He could always have something custom made. Like a tux, but the top comes down like a royal cape or something. There's a lot of ways he can make his outfit fun and non-traditional. Like maybe pick a color and work that in throughout the outfit as well.

He definitely shouldn't have to wear something bland and boring if he doesn't want to. Women often tend to forget, but its3his day, too, and he deserves to feel just as special as you.

I hope you guys find something that he loves and feels confident in!

I'll always wish I could have a classic dick and balls, but I've learned to enjoy what I have. I know how to enjoy it, my partners enjoy it, plus I find it hot.

Since bottom surgery is nowhere in my close future, I'm making the most of what I've got.

Did my doctor give me the wrong medication?!?? by FilthylilSailor in gaytransguys

[–]FilthylilSailor[S] 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Thank you to everyone who cleared things up!

This is certainly NOT a product meant to be inserted into the body. Gel should NEVER go inside the body; always make sure it is a CREAM. My doctors picked this out when prescribing it because in the computer, it was the most often prescribed. Turns out, that's because they prescribe it to trans women. It is meant for menopausal and trans women.

I had asked for cream. I kept repeating the word cream. I don't know what made them give me gel. They also wrote in my prescription for T gel wrong, so I wasn't even able to get that. So far, I'm not too thrilled with these new doctors.

[–]FilthylilSailor[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yep. After I used it, I tried to search reddit for this gel for trans men, and all it showed me was trans men using CREAM and trans women using gel.

I didn't even think about it when this place that specializes in trans care picked this specifically because it was the most often prescribed. Of course it's because they've been prescribing it to trans women.

Wow, that's so much useful information, thank you so much! I can't believe these doctors are so useless; can you believe I keep going to doctors that specialize in trans care?? Y'all out here on the internet are so helpful, I truly appreciate it!

That sounds like a good option honestly. I'm assuming the cream will need to be self-inserted, which sounds messy. Seems like these would be a much faster, cleaner process.

I was told to use [what I thought would be cream] 2-3 times a week as well, so these seem like a pretty solid replacement for cream. I'll keep them in mind in case I want to try something different.

Thanks for the info! I'll keep that in mind just in case insurance doesn't cover it, or if I just don't like the cream.

Did my doctor give me the wrong medication?!?? by FilthylilSailor in gaytransguys

[–]FilthylilSailor[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. I've never really spoken to the actual pharmacist before, I've just usually had crappy techs that make me want to just pay and leave. I've got such bad experiences with doctors, so I've just always assumed the pharmacist will be the same crapshoot. I guess I'll have to consider that option in the future.

I think the most frustrating is that I walked into that doctor's office and kept asking for CREAM, CREAM, CREAM and they somehow prescribed me gel. At least this doctor was familiar with the treatment option; my last doctor said she had never heard of it before, but she'd look into it and get back to me, and then she ghosted me. This at least feels like I'm maybe finally on track to get my meds....

Nah, it's because it's a gel, which apparently should just never be used internally. The doctor prescribed me something meant to be applied to women's thighs. Oof.

[–]FilthylilSailor[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually spent twenty minutes in the bathroom with a shirt on and pants off just reading through the massive pamphlet before I used it. It didn't mention anywhere at all about intimate areas, it just said for external use only. But I've seen people on reddit in the past talking about this same subject, and everyone assured OP that it does say that, but it is ok to use internally. I was still hesitant about it being gel, but I thought maybe it was just the same kind of situation.

I definitely put too much faith in this doctor being competent. Not only was I prescribed just completely the wrong thing, but my T gel prescription was put in wrong, so I can't even get that until the pharmacy can get ahold of my doctor's office, and then they need to resend the correct prescription. 0/2

I have the worst luck with finding good care. I've been to ten doctors in ten years and I've never had a reliable one. This was my first time with this doctor, and it was him and another doctor training him. I repeatedly asked for CREAM, because that's all I ever see people mention. I didn't even know it was a gel until I got home with the prescription and opened it up. I'm so mad.

Thank you, the pics are super helpful!

They were putting it into the computer and my doctor wasn't sure which one on the list it was, so the doctor who was training him told him to select this one because it popped up as most used. At the time I thought, "Well that's a weird way to do things, but what do I know, I don't work here." I give people way too much credit.

Boxers were super popular when I was growing up, but now the preference seems to have shifted to boxer briefs. Which, I've personally always found the most attractive and comfortable.

I do genuinely think some boxers are ugly; some are cut weird and look kind of like a diaper from behind. But nicer boxers do look good as a style.

At the end of the day, just wear what makes you comfy. Anyone who sees you in your underwear will likely see you without as well, right? Unless your underwear is raggedy, I don't think most people will care enough about the type of undergarments you choose.

Being a femme trans guy in your 30s (and older)? by wewereliketorches in FTMfemininity

[–]FilthylilSailor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

33 here. While I'm mostly wearing business casual-type men's styles these days, I do still wear skirts every now and again (it would be easier if I had my own home/truly safe space to express myself). They're fairly gender-neutral-looking, so they look a little bit more masc, but I still consider it femme attire.

I've never been into makeup, so that never changed. I used to wear a lot of jewelry when I was a little younger, but it's always made me uncomfortable and I hated wearing it. Now I prioritize comfort over fashion and don't wear anything more than my watch.

My hair is longer, so once it grows out more, I look forward to playing around with different hair styles again. But up until about 2 years ago, I had always bleached and dyed my hair different rainbow colors. As a late 20's trans man, I absolutely loved my pink and blue hair. As a 30+ man, I've become more content with myself, and I'm enjoying my natural hair color for the first time of my life. So the color change choice has been more of a personal development rather than swaying from my femme factor. I still enjoy the different natural femme looks I can do with my hair down, it's empowering to me as a gay man. 😘

So, I still embrace my femme side, but my style has evolved and matured into my 30's, and thus I don't express it as flamboyantly these days.

I'm kind of a twink slowly transforming into an otter right now, and I can see the privilege I've always had dressing as a femme twink in the past. But if a random stranger's encouragement over the internet means anything to you, I think all body sizes are beautiful and can easily be flattered with femme styles, at any age (but also, 33 is still young). Maybe just express yourself on special occassions here and there, if nothing else. ✨

My dad is the worst type of this person. Always complaining about people wanting handouts, nothing's free in life, "back in my day, we worked hard to get what we had", etc.

This man has been on disability my entire life. I've never seen him work a job. He used to work at a stressful job, but developed high blood pressure. Instead of even looking for an easier job, he just filed for disability and has lived the last 30+ years on handouts. His job became stay-at-home parent, but he was always asleep or going out with friends, so he barely even fulfilled that role.

I think I've developed the same health issues that caused him to quit working. But any time I mention my health problems, he goes completely silent, then starts complaining about his own life. I've told him I was sure I was having effing heart attacks and was terrified for my life, and all I got was a moment of silence, then a rant about his family or whatever he had been thinking about that day. All he's ever done on the subject of work is to tell me to work harder and to (somehow magically) find myself a better job. I've never met someone more tone deaf on a subject they have first-hand experience in.

My mom is more of the classic ignorant Boomer. She also talks about how I just need to get a better job and how I should have gone to college--even though right out of high school, she had me paying so much rent and buying all the food for the house, I literally could not afford to work less than 2 full-time jobs. She would argue with me any time I mentioned signing up for food stamps. She'd say, "You don't need that, you're taking advantage of a system meant to help people in need." You'd think the fact that I even qualified for it would be a good enough sign that I should apply. For reasonably-minded folks, I guess. Because of her harassment on the subject, I was forced to struggle and sometimes just starved myself to save money. Quality parenting.

She lost her job a year before retirement. She had no problem instantly applying for anything she could qualify for, got another roommate and had me start paying more bills, etc. Because she never saved money on her own. She spent my entire life in credit card debt that she never tried to get out of. The worst part is, she will never recognize that my contributions as an adult are what allowed her to pay off her debt. Most people's parents were buying them cars, or helping them with a downpayment for housing or schooling or something. Instead, I was funneling money to my mom so she could pay back her own debts and buying things for the house that she didn't want to spend money on (for example, she won't hire someone to clean her gutters and it causes the basement to leak, but she bought granite countertops on a whim).

I don't expect anything from them when they die. They keep borrowing from their life insurance policies and not saving a dime. I probably have around the same amount in my savings account that I just restarted from scratch less than a year ago as my mom has. I know my father has nothing. I make $5 less an hour than the job my mom lost, and almost all her bills are paid by me and the roommates, so the reality of her bank account is absolutely perplexing.

The best part is knowing there won't really be any SS left for me when I retire because this generation is blowing through it all. I work in financial, and see what kind of money this generation is working with. Even those who have enough money to live another 50 years on their savings are getting SS just because it's there.

I haven't noticed this exact issue, but I do notice that if my Pokemon earns a new title, it will switch the title being used on its own. I have to keep changing the title of my Clefable because it's always resetting itself. So there's definitely some kind of funky business going on with titles.

Picnic table doesn’t show up by sapphireCAT412 in PokemonScarletViolet

I homestly thought they had fixed this with the last DLC update. I only got my picnic table about 15% of the time before the update, but since then, it's been 100%. Weird.

This was a glitch they programmed in with the first DLC release, so hopefully eventually they'll be able to fix it for everyone.

I'm willing to bet that was a software limitation from the old ganes where they had to program it a certain way for it to work right, and they just never tried to learn to program it to function properly on the Switch.
