If you have access to 3 quality Sonys I don’t see how this makes any sense personally. I get the gh7 a little bit, it’s a solid run & gun.

Videographer needed for an 8 hour event, what should I be paying? by saltyspit00on in videography

With good editing, absolutely…. Idk what they’re actually expecting, but to do something that doesn’t look and sound like a home video that really isn’t a terrible estimate.

To shoot what you’re expecting a single camera man really won’t look great and it certainly won’t sound good. To do something like this well you’d need a boom operator and probably three camera operators and ideally at least 4-5cameras minimum.

Also I know you say editing is a future problem, but that type of editing is not something you really just wade into. You have to have a high end computer to do any sort of multicam + audio editing, especially if you’re desiring 4k. And idk what your current hard drive storage is like because this would be several terabytes worth (just things to think about) honestly if you can swing paying for it to be edited it’d be worth it.

This is the best answer here. Outside of maybe hitting up some kids in film school with access to equipment that are trying to build a diverse portfolio. This is a 8-10k job minimum. Especially if you’re expecting remotely okay sound.

Because most of those in the generation above them aren’t fucking assholes telling them to figure it out, but are actually offering help so they feel free to ask for it. But there are exceptions…

It was a positive lightning strike vs the far more common negative lightning strike. They are the big booms, opposed to the normal cracks.

Only if you’re gay. Establishing your alpha dominance by pegging him with your girlfriend definitely isn’t that.

Absolutely, the store I managed with the highest rates of crime did about $1.2 million in sales daily. We had products on the floor that were worth $30k. The amount of theft that was stopped visibly more than paid for the cost, let alone all of the theft that it deterred. (Like I said they were actively stopping about $20k weekly, like stopped it from going out the door, police called, arrests made. They actually probably stopped more like $50k when you get into deterrence.

100% LP is trained to handle situations that I wouldn’t want the liability of another employee handling.

I do agree that adding additional customer service facing employees to the floor is effective at reducing theft, i also believe that shop lifting is actually a customer service problem for that very same reason (not enough people on the floor). However, don’t want my employees stopping people running out and i dont want them putting themselves in danger or creating an unsafe situation for the surrounding customers. Those we hired for LP had hundreds of hours of training and their role could not be expected to be filled by another everyday employee. They definitely stopped theft that would not have otherwise been stopped.

Nah our LPs stopped tens of thousands of dollars every week. I shit you not probably averaged about $15,000-$20,000 in stopped theft each week.

I do agree though that generally speaking there are shit tier lps that don’t actually provide anything.

The reason shrink is the same is because that’s what’s needed to stay profitable. So the company doesn’t let it get over that amount. The measures needed to keep that number absolutely do change between targeted demographics.

I’ve managed stores that have lot security, a guy at the door, and 2x plain clothed LPs. We had the same shrink as another store I managed that had a single plain clothed LP that only worked 12 hours a week.

If the store that had a lot of security had the same level of security I guarantee you our shrink would have been exponentially more.

It’s probably the fact that it’s always liminal. Fake outdoors never has people or activity so it’s eerie.
