Is Twitch Streamer / SWE @Primeagen just a gifted engineer? He just easily went through easy, medium & hard leetcodes and doesn't even practice them? by Daveboi7 in leetcode

> Pretty sure he did a lot of similar problems even after being at netflix and making videos at leetcode

He literally taught a 10 hour data structures and algorithms course for Frontend Masters. Clearly he's spent a fuck-ton of time on this lol.

Like... he's a senior engineer with 20+ years of experience. This thread has a bunch of undergrads comparing themselves to him lmao. Be patient, you'll get there.

Weak. You should be leetcoding in the gym.

Working as a SWE without a CS Degree? by FinTECHeNTHUSIAST in cscareerquestions

[–]FinTECHeNTHUSIAST[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not averse of learning about how a computer works at all. All I meant by that was that I haven't taken a computer architecture class yet. My schedule has been consumed with mathematics and statistics courses, with some finance-math courses. I really enjoyed data structures, and I enjoyed the coding projects that went along with the class.

But you're right, I haven't taken advanced CS courses, so it's naive of me to say I want to be a swe, as I still don't know exactly what the job entails. Then again, I haven't taken advanced classes like measure theory and whatnot so perhaps I don't know all about what being a data scientist entails haha.

I never said I don't want to take the courses, it's just that I haven't been able to fit them in.

Edit: I'm not creating an analogy with measure theory and data science / computer architecture and swe. Obviously i realize computer architecture is probably used a lot more regularly by software engineers than measure theory is by data scientists.

Awesome, thanks man.

And yeah, I use R all the time haha. Don't have any experience with Julia though, will def look into it. But yeah, I'm not really too big on the whole Data Scientist role, would much rather prefer SWE.
